MR January 29 2012- Who's in?

I've seen nearly all of the movies playing (kind of bummed about that, actually) but wanted to say that if you're going to see Toy Story 3 or The Help bring tissues. Lots of them.

I do want to see War Horse and I'll see Beauty and the Beast (must be 3D) simply so I can see the Tangled short before it and maybe we'll see Pirates again.

9 days and since we're experiencing "Snowmaggedon" here in Seattle ( ) I'm more than ready for sunshine.

Now my DS19 is making fun of me because I have clothing racks up with my clothes I'm taking and saw my FE stuff. "Tyler...go work out. Enjoy your take out for 7 days!" :dance3::dance3: Oh, lucky for him he just got hired as a host at the Claim Jumper down the street~! I say that's PERFECT timing :)

yummm, Claim Jumper. I wish there was one closer to Anaheim. I tried the GIANT sandwich last time because once you see it, you have to try it. Didn't even get through 1/10 of it. But it's fun to look at.

Your son will be so sick of pizza by the time you come home... and then he'll be asking you to cook and you can say NO WAY. He made fun of you AND you are still in cruise mode and have grown accustomed to being waited on hand and foot :)

Roxanne, good luck tomorrow! Dental work is no fun (just had 2 crowns done, ugh!) but hopefully it will be quick and easy. LOL Had to take dh in for wrist x-rays yesterday after a slip on the ice -- we had *one* cold day all winter, and who gets distracted by the neighbors while taking the garbage cans down? Luckily it's not broken, or at least, if it's fractured, it's not showing up yet. Doc says it can take up to 2 weeks to show up on an x-ray. Sorry, we'll be icing it down with "margarita therapy" by that point!!

Still finishing up my FE project & waiting on my order to arrive . . . and beginning to panic about the state of my packing and the lack of summer clothing for boys at our Old Navy :) I'd whine that I want to leave now, but I'm not quite ready! My hands and feet are cold, though. I'm ready for those 80-degree temps that show up on my phone's weather widget to taunt me every day.

So are we doing a DISmeet? I'd love to meet everyone! I'd like my DD13 to come and see if there is anyone she could at least say Hi to. And I need to hand out the 75 GLOW STICKS!!! The ones that go around your neck. Well, it may be 70 now because every time I touch one, the glow starts :rotfl:

OM:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:G....how exciting....one week from tonight you will be here!

Pleeeeeeeeeeese let the nightmares calm down. Don't get me started about the tale of trying to get on the freeway and get to the port while you all are on board enjoying the buffet and sail away party! :scared1: :rotfl::rotfl: The really scary part is I finally get on the ship and the bars are closed!!!!!!!!!!!! YIKES!

I'm still having them too...in one I forgot to bring my bra! And apparently everyone on board could tell.

So what's everyone's plans for Cabo? I think we're headed to Medano Beach the first day, not sure about the 2nd

For Cabo we're doing a harbor cruise with a scenic stop. Second day I might just want to hit Senor Frogs and shopping.

I've decided to book a shuttle for going to the pier. I've looked through the cruise documents but I can't see where I tell the shuttle to drop us off.
Does anyone know what address to tell them?

Pizzie.... I had a bit of a LOL/ sad moment when I read about you getting tripped and freaking out. A couple of years ago my parents were going to go down to Florida to camp.... they had been planning and looking forward to it all year. Two weeks before they were going to go my dad fell off the ladder while working on their camper and broke his heel. He had to be off of work for 7 months and they didn't get to go on vacation. I read them our post when there were here last night and he felt your pain and fear about getting hurt.

True story...I had just dropped my oldest son Dakota off at college, 3000 miles from away, and boarded the bus back to the airport to fly back home. Dakota was a huge Toy Story fan when he was little. He had the talking Woody and Buz, and watched the video over and over. I settled into my seat and looked up to the movie playing on the overhead tv's. Yup, Toy Story 3....I had held it together so well, until that minute. I started crying, really actually sobbing, on the Greyhound bus. I texted my DH and told him what was playing and this is the text he sent me (which I saved on my phone)
"Honey, he is coming back...he left all his toys at our house, even Woody"

I feel for you, brings back lots of memories when our daughter went off the university. I held it together until she left the house, sat on the stairs and sobbed and sobbed, about three minutes after she left the phone ran, she was calling from the grocery store down the street to ask if I missed her yet. Broke the tension. Miss him but think of the adventure he is on for his future.

:goodvibes Only a mom who's had one leave really knows how many crazy emotions you feel when they go, thanks for the encouragment, this is the first family trip w/o him, and I've been a little melencholy. Good for me to remember the positive parts

WOOHOO!!!!!!! We'll be LA 1 week from tonight! Almost all packed yet so much to still do.
Me too, this time next week we'll be on the road.:banana:

I haven't even started to pack. Told hubby today we need to get it together. Usually by now at least one suitcase is packed

What is Medano Beach? Do you take a taxi there? Is it the public beach everyone talks about? We had our honeymoon at the Melia and remember all the beach restaurants.

First Cabo day we have the Dolphin Encounter. The second day is free and I too want to shop. :thumbsup2

ETA: I will be there at the Meet & Greet! Can't wait to meet you all!

So the ship is in Cabo for two days, and according to the itinerary the first day "ends" at 7:00 PM. Do all passengers have to be back aboard at that time? Since it is the same Port for two days.... The reason I ask is on Thursdays there is an art gallery walk in San Jose del Cabo, which would go into the evening hours.

OH WOW! The Wonder looks so pretty all lit up at night in Cabo!

Kendall, someone told me it sails out to international waters and sails back in the next morning (I'm trying to catch it sail away at 7pm) :thumbsup2 For several reasons. One is so they can open up the shops and then someone else mentioned the ship isn't made to anchor that long (?) and goes in slow circles - something like that. But that it does leave port, comes back the next morning. I'm waiting to see for myself right now....

Also, it's Pirate Night tonight on the ship, I guess they need to be moving for that? Who knows ;) Someone with more knowledge will let us know ;)

Moving it to open the shops up makes sense.

Curious to know what would happen IF someone missed the ship the first day, would they be able to just get a room overnight and rejoin the ship?

LOL, well, if there were a time to miss the ship, I guess this would be the best port to do so! :rotfl: You don't want to end like this couple! (Sorry guys, I probably just sent off a whole bunch of other nightmares to my DIS friends)

I had to edit my post because obviously, I'm a doofus. The prior link was NOT the ship in Cabo, it was people missing a cruise ship! No worries, I sent an email to my mom and told her to look at the Wonder at Cabo.....and she sees people missing the boat. Great. Wonderful. As if the current cruise ship disaster wasn't enough to worry, I had to post people missing the ship! Any way, here's the live web cam for Cabo. I did watch the ship sail out. She should be back to port tomorrow. And I wonder why my kids make fun of me.
