MR excursion reviews....

I've tried to search, but the search feature is horrible.

Has anyone done the Pirate Ship in Puerto Vallarta? Was it good?

How about the resort getaway in Cabo? Or the dolphin excursions? Trying to decide what we might be interested in, and these are the top of the list. Thanks for the help!

I've been wondering the same thing... I haven't been able to find much info about the MR excursions at all. We are also cruising MR in about 4 months - wonder if we're on the same sailing? (10/2)

We're Oct 16th. It's driving me nuts that I can't find anything. I thought for sure after everyone went the first few months this year I'd see stuff, but I haven't really seen much. Makes it hard to plan.

I am also going on the MR cruise in October. If you don't get many responses here I would check out Cruise Critic's web site. The have a link specific for the MR and lots of threads about different port excursions, beaches etc. I have asked questions there and gotten good answers....good luck and have a great cruise! We did the dolphin encounter signature swim in Puerto Vallarta in July a few years ago, then again this past January. Loved both excursions (which is why we did it twice.) The water was nice and warm in July but a bit chilly in January, but do-able. One of the young women's teeth chattered throughout. They do have wetsuits but nobuddy wore one.

We also did the whale watching excursion this past January. Lots of whales that time of year. I doubt there will be nearly that many in October.

Our niece and her DH did the rappelling shore excursion (different cruise line ) in Puerto Vallarta and had a great time.

We did the dolphin excursion in Cabo. People rave about it but I was disappointed. It is very expensive, you pretty much have to book through the ship but everything seemed too orchestrated for my taste. It gets rave reviews from others so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

From what I've read,the dolphin encounter is supposed to be better in Cabo that PV. I believe it is a newer facility in Cabo. It is also very close (walking distance) from the tender. It made it a nice excursion for the second, very short day, at Cabo.

We didn't do it but I've read that ziplining in PV is great! There are numerous trip reports about people booking through DCL vs booking privately vs. just showing up and bartering. If you search for PV zipline or something like that, you'll find the trip reports.
