I drop my last tags because the conversation that the TF got that idea involve my paternal side of the family that is about to lose their matriarch (the last of my late-Grandma's siblings). My Great-aunt if she is still living next month (which I doubt at this point---massive problems including her brian is just about totally dead) would be married at least 66 years. She has been suffering problems for a long time and helped out when my grandparents passed on (they lived next door and now her daughter owns what was my grandparents' home).

I'm okay---its just a bit sad time. My Dad is close to my Great-aunt and her husband and its 20 years ago friday when my Dad's father died (at home) plus next friday is the 20th anniversary of my Grandmother's older brother (Great-aunt's big brother too).

Thanks. We are hoping that she will pass peacefully (she's maybe 90?)---she and her husband have both been getting ill the past 9 years since my Grandma's passing. I'm more worried about my Dad because a close neighbor died this week from an anuerism after recovering from cancer. This fall was filled with a lot of family members passing or suffering some illness (both NC Beast's side and mine). It just one of those Circle of Life kind of years.

I'm ready for some people bring some life into the world---well my sister and hubby did buy a Wippet named Flash (girl). I hope that she would make me into a an aunt someday---she is hoping that I'll be first. Did I ever mention that both of us are stubborn? No WDW special souvineers from this year's trip. I need to lose some more weight first.

Our family had a bad year too with both my grandma and Kevin's grandma passing away. For both us (me and you), I'm looking foward to 2006 getting behind us so 2007 can be a happier year.

Is your sister younger or older than you?
When you say lose more weight first, is that something you say, or your doctor says? I had a friend that said that she needed to lose weight first before she could conceive, and she ended up conceiving anyway - she was thrilled!!!!!

This will be our first T'day without my parents.. Last year we just ignore the whole holiday thing 'cause no of us could cope but this year is different...


It is back to my house for Thansgiving with DH's family and then Sunday with mine. I am getting the menu together for Thanksgiving, and starting to do some of the baking.

My Great-aunt died last night---Dad got an e-mail from his cousin. Today is the 20th anniversary of his Dad's passing.


Okay---onto something more cheerful:

QOTD: NC Beast is working Thanksgiving so I'm considering defrost the 12 lb. turkey for next weekend plus a couple sides---not a big production. If I do that, we will have Chinese or make turkey enchildas (from leftovers).

The funeral is in AL so we won't be able to go---plus its not scheduled yet. I don't think my parents are going due to distance and some appointments that can't really be moved. My Great-aunt and her husband bought plots near my grandparents (purchased 20 years ago) which is also close to her parents and other siblings. I think my Dad's cousins want the funeral on Sunday, but its more likely Monday.

Its a beautiful day to remember our veterans which included my Grandfather who was one time stationed in Hawaii after Pearl Harbor who later switch to work for the Air Force.

Weekend is over and back to work..
Planning, cooking baking for T'day,and then Black Friday..

Geoff is off school today but Eric is at school (gotta love having kids in 2 different school districts). but next year they will be back at the same one again..
