My aunt from San Antonio uses chili on top of fritos and then add cheese. I remember seeing a Food Network show where the original recipe involes a small snack size bag of Fritos opened up like a bowl...then chili is applied and other toppings like cheese. It is super easy---I'm going to make homemade black bean chili.

I love homemade chili!!!

I probably make it tomorrow---just deciding on just 1 type of beans or 2 and how saucy or chunky. We are having burgers tomorrow with it.

Hi everyone! All this talk about frito pie and chili is making me hungry!

Just a little food story: When I moved to Texas I decided to order a frito pie at the snack bar at my high school. I was TOTALLY shocked when they slit open a small bag of fritos and poured chili in it and dumped some cheese in it. They just handed me the scalding bag of fritos. I had never seen anything like it... but it was yummy.
