Morning all... hopefully the waether is gonna clear up today... We are camping this weekend with the Boy Scouts.. I am such a fair weatehr camper.. So I need dry and warm..well at least dry..

We did something fun last night - WE BOOKED OUR CRUISE!!!!

We are cruising on The Magic in October 2007

The girls will be the ages of 9 and 4, which I think will be perfect We are going to have so much fun - I am so excited!!!

CONGRATULALTIONS! WHICH ONE?????? You know, when I'm on mine in November I'll need a date for a cruise to pre-book........hmmmmmmmm.

I used to camp when I was a Girl Scout, but....these my idea of roughing it would be staying at Ft. Wilderness in a cabin or like Samanatha Brown said in the Great Hotel episode of WL--- I enjoy the sounds of indoor plumbing.

SLO--- I'm so jealous....we can't plan that far ahead with NC Beast's job. We are having a hard time planning his 4 weeks plus the paid holidays--- a lot of projects came up for him.


Castlegazer--- Congrats and good luck! I'm trying to find a new career for myself again...now that we are staying in NC for awhile.

NC Beast and I had to make new resumes because our old ones are on the fried motherboard of the old computer. I made it my goal to have a Poly or GF vacation or own DVC in the next 2-5 years. I wish that we could try cruises---but, it hard for us to plan ahead and get the great deals.

Today I am going flower shopping and then working outside all day - I can hardly wait. It's going to be really nice to get some color in this yard

NC Belle - I'll be honest with you, I'm a little nervous about booking a vacation this far ahead of time too . It's so hard to know what will be going on with our lives in over a year.

I have my confirmation papers in front of me and it says we are in Cat 8, which is a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom.

I would have like a verendah - but the thought of a baloncy over open water, with two little girls, scares the heck out of me I'm a little paranoid, I know, but I can't help it

Noooo, I've a cat 5...it seemed to be too hoggish to put two people in a cat 4, which sleeps 5 people! Well, actually, thought it would be a waste of $$, can buy lots of mochachinos and konk koolers for those extra $$. Actually I felt decadant spending the extra $100 or so to go from a 6 to a 5 just so we could have deck 7 starboard. slo, my first cruise was a cat 11 inside stateroom and I truly like the layout of the 10,11,12's better (bed in the back). Did you order the DCL planning video? It's free, be sure and do that if you haven't already. If you didn't book a specific stateroom, but booked a GTY (guarantee) for your catagory, we'd be glad to guide you into choosing a specific room. Your cruise is so far out that you may as well pick a good location instead of just trusting fate. It would be nice to know you're not in a 'noisy' location. If you have a specific stateroom booked, go to the cruise forum and look at the stateroom reports, you can find out what people who have stayed in your stateroom think about it. One easy call to DCL and you can make a change.

When I called DCL to change from my solo to verandah (with TiggersPal), I had the stateroom report up on my computer and as the CastMember mentioned a stateroom I'd say, "no, that one is across from the service elevator, how about farther aft?" She finally asked how I knew all this stuff...ah, the joys of the internet!

But probably the BEST recommendation is to buy the NEW edition of the PassPorter for cruising DCL. Check them out at www.passporter.com You can save yourself lots of time posting questions here by reading this FIRST then coming to the DIS for specific questions or just to get other people's experiences. ALSO.....read the cruise trip reports Now get busy, you only have SEVENTEEN MONTHS!

Never too early to meet your fellow DISers who will be cruising with you! Hmmmmm, I could do this cruise for a mere $1676.30, cat 11, cabin #7123, solo. Hmmmm, less 10% on board booking, plus a stateroom credit. Wonder if the price will stay the same for a few more months?

I got a cute Jessie story.

Last night, Jessie and I were watching the Food Network. We were just veggie out on the love seat...then when Iron Chef America came on, Jessie's ears perked up. She got real excited when they were saying Cat Cora in listing of the chefs on the series. Jessie got the most disappointed look and dropped her ears when they announced Bobby Flay as the chosen chef. I didn't realize that she had a favorite Iron Chef. NC Beast and I knew that she pays attention to the Food Network shows... but, a dog rooting for a Cat?

Jessie tends to be weird at times. She likes to beg for scraps during dinner by sitting with her back to us in the kitchen doorway (we have a small eat-in kitchen). She can tell time and count (learnt to do it years ages ago). She is proud to be 4 and counts to 4 in barks when asked her current age.

My new neighbor has a fantastic Golden Retriever, so when I need a dog fix, I'm going to to their house and play with him for awhile. To bad we live so far from each other, I would love to meet Jessie - I love dogs!!
