Congrats! I'm a bit partial to Belle and the other girl names are sweet. One of the weather forecasters in Raleigh just named her daughter, Elizabeth Reese. I think that one NC Beast's cousin named his daughter Mai or similiar (or its a nickname that they did for 90 days before the official naming because his cousin's wife is Chinese and they follow most of the customs because they live in Taiwan (I think).

Sam is gone She left early this am. She had to be back at school by noon in order to switch her tickets to the FSU game. So I'm depressed. It was the best surprise. I don't know what I'll do when she actually moves out!

LEW, congrats on the girl!!!. I really like Mai but I think people will pronouce it like "MY". But i think that is a keeper unless you go boring and name her Pam!!

Any decorations going up? Belle you have your family in today right?? Ok off to do nothing. Will check a couple of different threads. Have a great weekend!

AWESOME!!!!! A Girl! You totally are not going to know what to do with yourself! I am still in pink shock! I am soo getting into it, though. She must be in skirts and pink at all times now.

I don't like opening up the name thing to vote because it always leads to disapointment (because you will be dispointed in how your family reacts when you don't pick their name and when you completely switch in the hospital an dthey all decided in thier heads it was some other name and are pissed at you for screwing them up) so I will not be voting. You have picked some beautiful starter ideas - take a look at her in the hospital and call her the name that fits.

Had a Happy Thanksgiving - hope everyone else did too.

We got tons of snow! It was awesome. Thursday morning we went out sledding. Then Saturday we got more and went sledding again. I LOVE snow!

My souless Thanksgiving wasn't so bad - lots of homemade apps that made up for it. But no TV's so it was a bit bland in excitement.

My Friday with my Mom was awesome - much more my speed - we made Duck and had all my favorites then. Mom knows best!

OK - so that's about it. Now, must get to work.

Oh, cadsmom, I am sooooo totally with you - I have done NO shopping except for my son's gifts and I am in panic mode, but I did do my Christmas Card last night, now I need to go buy envelopes, stamps, and address them - no big deal

we had some too but not really deep. But just enough to make the cat grumpy ' cause she hates snow as it is wet and cold on her paws.. She really would like to move to a better climate .. anyone know someone in San Diego that would like a cat? She is a great hunter..!!

CMOM how did the cooking non stop all day go?? I am sure that it was a big success with everyone and it made their holdiday brighter.


Hosted a bridal shower on Saturday with a friend and we made salad and quiche and chocolate fondue.. The fondue was a big hit...

Lew, I know a girl named MAI, and She has spoiled me liking the name... I Might I seggest that you write out the entire name and pronounce it. I think Reese Lewsky sounds the best. You also need to strike a balance with the middle name so that when you are angry with her the full name will strike fear in her heart..... Oh, an I agree with CG, opening up the discussion for names with others (except us of course ) can only lead to pain.... We are here for you!!!!

Geffric, We are getting a hospitality room at the hotel we had our wedding reception at, planning on about 25 people total for Cake and Ice Cream, and we are getting his music teacher to give a music class...

CG I miss snow! Sounds like you had tons of fun. And glad you enjoyed that time with your mom. Cherish every minute!

Geffric, the dinners went well. But I didn't hardly get to spend anytme with Sam on Thurs. I was in the kitchen at least 12 hours. I do not want to do that again next year. We will cater. And even with all the time that went into putting the two meals together, it just looked like a regular meal sent in on plates. Oh well. Sounds like you had a great shower. I can't believe you still know peole getting married. All of the people I know are my friends kids!!!

CADSMOM, how was the trip? Wish I could be your elf but I am also on the hunt for santa's helpers. Too much to do!

I'm cranky. Fasting this am due to morning blood work. ugh

I'm on round two of the wedding circuit - second marriages and holdout bachelors.

The snow is fading fast! Its been foggy every day as it goes away. It will probably be back with a vengeance, though.

I bought my son ice skates and a helmet for Christmas. He wants to learn how to skate. I want to teach him how to ski, but skating is a cheaper sport, so that will be what we do for now. I didn't buy him double runners, though. Everyone keeps looking at me like, you poor sap, when I tell them that. Did I make a huge mistake? He's 3 1/2. I never had double runners.

I posted this on the other thread but didn't do this one.. oh welll!!!

.. some interesting news from work this morning..

my manager asked me if I had any DISire to go back to WDW anytime soon.. So I thought to myself, is this a trick question?

But I answered truthfully, "well you know I have an Annual Pass.."

So he asked if I would mind working a booth at a conference at the Dolphin on December 12-14.. nope don't mind at all. . be more than happy to. In fact I can get there on Sunday or Saturday to make sure that the booth is all set up etc.
