I found out tonight that my Great-aunt that was sick for a while has passed away this morning. The viewings, visitations, and funeral are next week---the same days that we are in WDW. I decided to go on with our trip as planned---my maternal Great-aunt loved to travel so NC Beast and I will celebrate her life at the pubs and the Irish booth. My mom is helping in finishing the details along with Mom's next-to-the youngest brother---my great-aunt had no children and had been a widow for many decades. My folks knew about our WDW and were okay with us going to FL. The funeral home and burial is in Upstate NY outside of Albany so it would had been hard to go even if we did not already have set plans.

Now, I have to tell my MIL this weekend on where we are going and why we are not going to the funeral.

ok so here is the deal on my trip , my Dh is the planner on this along with our wonderful PDS Kimmie and I have no idea when I will really be there only the week I will be there . It is a big supprise for me , I do know he said I will be very happy with what he has planned and he has planned it with a friend who we will be meeting there . Who the friend is I have no idea but I know I will see Rick and Jow while I am there . We will run into a few other Tag friends I am sure : )

We are at BWV between 10/23-- @5pm 10/26 so wave to us if you see us (we will bearing axes ...I mean a jug of rum).

NCBELLE, I feel so sad for your loss, We will toast her life with you at 7:15 on Monday night. Maybe even we can say a little prayer by the HM (Ir is the closest thing to a graveyard there) I wouldn't say this to family, because they might view it as slightly sacreligious, but if she loved travel and would have wanted you to celebrate her life, I can't think of a better place to pay respects to her. See you there.. The whole fandamily is looking forward to seeing you.

Thanks for the hugs and PD. My great-aunt had pre-planned most of her funeral details and updated them several months ago. I really don't mind missing the services since my mom's siblings---well....half of them have issues that explode out at big events. My mom hopes that her younger sibling that left the faith will not change plans or ruin the very traditional Catholic funeral rites.

I feel that the history of this thread is a bit of a mystery. I would love to know some of the details myself, but alas, I feel it is not my place to speculate. I will say that many members here were (and still are) members in good standing of the Tagliarchy (whether they admit it or not) and They have some of the most beautiful children ever to have pictures posted. I consider all of them friends.

As far as the history goes, I will leave it to them to explain.....

Sure--- you may want to check on the timing of Cinderbration to check its impact on getting into the resteraunt. It may be a good photo op for Ian with the characters if you time it right.

LEW I can't remember the first time we brought Lauren to WDW. Maybe 2 yrs??? I think we celebrated her bday-on Thanksgiving day in Epcot. You will have a blast and your other youngins will enjoy showing their new sibling all the fun he/she will have!! ahhhhhhh

Having the builder come over this am to help us with plans for the addtion. Sam needs a room of her own-not that she will stay with us over the summers anymore. Heck she is a college student now. Too old for mom and dad. MAD cry with me babe!!! whhaaaaaaaaaaaa

I am so sorry. I think drinking to her memory is a great way, maybe even more appropriate than sitting in a funeral home, to provide tribute to her memory and her life. She sounds like she was a pip.

I went to high school right outside Albany in Troy. I am from the western most portion of MA.

My great-aunt had lived in Troy, NY for most of her life. The funeral director had made a lovely obit. on the funeral home site (the long/short versions are scheduled for Wed/Thurs. for the newspapers). I only been to Troy when I was 8 for thanksgiving---she gave my mom a lovely china closet that year because she was moving to her retirement home apartment. My aunt would had been 90 next month.
My mom is very upset and has been going through pictures to give copies to the director for the video tribute. She is thankful that my Dad had over the past year restored many family photos that would be used.
