The boys woke up all excited.
"Surfs up dude!", shouted BiGGy.
Junior just rolled his eyes at the sight of his dad trying to act cool.
"I think i'll just go and get the freebies to put in my backpack. We can have a few snacks on the beach." said mom.
At this point you could imagine the look of worry in reception as it was going to look as though a swarm of locusts had been to breakfast.
BiGGy also realised he had got his new toy to play with today, his waterproof cover for his camera. Out came his bag of tricks and he lovingly sealed his camera inside it's new case.
The drive to Daytona was a straight run. We had to park the car in the multi storey just off the beach as all access was closed due to the hurricanes. We had to stop just before we parked as Mrs BiGGy saw a Subway and had to tick it off her list.
BiGGy opened the trunk. Since when were we staying overnight, he thought. Mom had put everything we needed for the beach in a 'few' holdalls and rolling coolerbox.
"You never know what you might need", she siad.
We found a nice spot on the beach right next to a little booth hiring the body boards. Junior and his dad headed for the surf whilst the girlies lay on thier sunbeds for a while. Mrs BiGGy started to panic as 'strip of wind' son seemed to be going farther and farther down the beach. Mom reassured her that it was just the tide turning. Sure enough, half an hour later the sea calmed down.
The men really enjoyed thier surfing and even pursuaded DD to have a go. She wouldn't go in at first because she thought the jellyfish were going to get her. Mrs BiGGy was ordered to take care of BiGGy's pride and joy and to take as many snaps as possible. After a while he came back as he realised that Mrs BiGGy wasn't going anywhere near the water to take any pictures.
After a while we noticed that mom had gone missing. Obviously gone to check out the lifeguards. Mrs BiGGy was peeved that she hadn't thought of this and was stuck looking after the mini campsite.
Junior came back and sat down for a while.His dad was having fun taking pictures of the fish underwater and DD was busy catching waves. Mom turned up and said it was time for a snack. We all got out our subways and mom set out her bag of wares. Drinks and cakes aplenty.
Mom decided to go and get the kids a bucket and spade. Does she still think we are in Weston?, thought BiGGy.
"That shop is really good up there. I'm going to get some presents from there." said mom. Biggy looked in alarm as he didn't think the back axle was going to withstand the weight.
As we were eating our lunch,BiGGy heard those divine words from his son.
"Can we go to Hooters dad. I kneed a new t-shirt."
BiGGy's eyes glazed over as he knew he could use those words that he had practiced so many times....Can i have one from up there and one from down there.
Our day at Daytona finished shortly after that and we enjoyed a nice steady drive back.
We all got showered and changed ready for dinner. Mrs BiGGy had never seen her husband look so smart and smelling so nice.
The girls didn't want to go to hooters and decided to opt for pizza hut instead. BiGGy and son breathed a sigh of relief as they didn't want the women cramping their style.
We all met up at Pionte orlando after our meals. The men had obviously had a good time as the grins on thier faces could be seen for miles. Junior was well happy as he got his t shirt and a picture with one of the girls to show his mates.
The girls didn't mind about Hooters as the next day was thier treat, Seaworld and the christmas luau.
