MY 6 yr old DD loves to listen to my DH MP3 player. She is asking for one for her birthday. I think it would come in handy for trips to WDW. Anyone have advice on an MP3 player that is :earsgirl: durable and easy to use. She is very good (as most children these days are) at working electronic things. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks-
Melanie

I'm not sure what you currently have, but have you looked at the iPod shuffle? I don't have it, I have a regulat iPod, but for $100, small, lightweight and I think it comes with a lanyard type thing to wear around your neck. I would think that might be a good option.

::yes:: Agreed. The shuffle might be a good idea for a 6 year old. :flower:

Yes, the shuffles are great! My 11 & 12 yo sons have them and have done really well with them. We're now going to get them regular ipods. The shuffles are durable and oh so easy to work. The lanyard is great for not losing them. :wave2:

We got our dd6 a mp3 player at target....it has enought space for her to put a bunch of songs and have hours of listening time...and for a 6yo I thought paying $50 on sale was good enough. After all she loves to take it EVERYWHERE...and I'd feel much better if she lost or misplaced a $50 mp3 player instead of the $100 ipod...We/she has never had ANY problems or trouble with it...and she uses it ALL the time...even more than he sister who is 12. We wern't to sure about getting on for her...but she LOVES it.

Check out the clearance area at Target - I picked up a Virgin MP3 player for under $40.00 and it works great for the kids. Easy to use, too!

My daughter has a "Play it Now". It was less than $30 and she can 'record' stuff right from her little boom box. It doesn't hold much music - only about 30 minutes but she loves it.

She's 11, not a gadget person, and they were very popular in her fifth grade class this year among the girls.

I don't know if you have a Bank One nearby, but I think they have a promotion going on where you open an account with a minimum $500 and they give you a free iPod shuffle.

You would have to check into all the details, but just another idea to get it cheap.
