Mp3/Mp4 player suggestions - NO IPODS Please....

If anyone is interested, Best Buy has the Zen Vision M for $199.99. They only had black in the store, but I ordered pink online.

With $14.99 for second day delivery, it was still less than the iPod video.

I'm so glad to hear good reviews, since it's dd's birthday present.:cool1:

I am interesting is purchasing a NEW Mp3 or Mp4 player. I've already purchased the 60GB Ipod video - and I 'hated' it. I just sold it on ebay for $229 and I'm looking to replace it for something else. I want the video option and would like something with at least 30 GB or more. Any suggestions would be great.

Well anything worth purchasing will be very very much like the Ipod and if you didn't like that then there really isn't much else to reccomend as all the ones that came after are pretty much copies of the Ipod. I would have to say the Microsoft Zune would be my suggestion other than an ipod and it is the most Ipod like player available.

Just in case you didn't know Ipod actually copied Creative. Ipod just took it to a whole different level, but Apple paid $100m to settle its legal spat with rival MP3 player maker Creative Technology. The cash not only brings Creative's patent infringement lawsuits to a close but provides Apple with a licence to its intellectual property. Apple terminated its counter-suits.

Another Creative Zen 30gb users here. I love my Zen I bought it at Buy.com for about $159 and it came with an adapter. i love it..

I have a question for the creative zen users. Where do you download movies and tv shows from?

Several places but use the Creative Media Explorer instead of Windows Media Player. But I must tell you that I personally don't know of a place that this is legally done, but there are SEVERAL on the interent. In your browser type FREE TV download for Zen. I personally record mine on DVD then use a converter software (Creative Media Explorer) and finally transfer it on my Zen. If you find a legal place, please PM me. BTW, this Apple monopoly MUST change soon.

Universal is planning to launch a download service to compete with iTunes video, I think this year. It will be the first major competitor.

Yeah its called frog something, I remember reading about it a while back. I did download Surge today (which comes with Windows Media Player 11). Surge is really sweet. I downloaded every bit of 200 songs for FREE today. Its free for 14 days and $15 a month for unlimited download. I refuse to pay $15 a month for that service once my time is up, but I will admit that the service moves EXTRA fast and soooo easy to use with my Zen Vision M. Now I wish I could find a legal way to download videos in my Zen and I'm a happy woman.

I'm glad you like the Zen! We like ours. Creative products are good products in my opinion. I agree with the apple monopoly quote, that was another reason why we did not buy the i-pod.

I must learn how to download the movies. I'm assuming that we need a video cable adapter?
Do you know if you can copy your own DVD's and transfer them to the Zen?

Thanks!

What I do is upload my DVD's into DVD shrink, then the DVD converter, then transfer them in my Zen.
