Mower in tree still there?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but they were removing the lawnmower tree when we were on our way to the boat last week. When we returned it was another golf cart parking space.. kinda bummed...

How could they - how dare they? That has been a 'marker' at the Fort for as long as I remember.

Sorry for getting carried away - it really was a special site ( along with the water wagon they took away :confused3

It's definitely gone. Just checked on our way to MK and there isn't even a bit of sawdust or anything. :(

I am speechless...

See I was not drunk. However, I was starting to wonder confirmations were slow. Plus I can't believe I was the first to broadcast the news. I rely on all of you for the articles in this mouse gazette journal.

You know,

Even though the Lawnmower tree is now gone in the last week or so, in reality it's been gone for a while.

The sign was still there and the rotor blades were still down in the ground but it has been years since it was recognizable. And to NoM's point about the wagon that was in the playground area that is gone, the whimsy of the Fort has been disappearing over the years and the sad thing is: it's not being replaced by anything new.

With the tiniest bit of effort and creativity, WDW has a jewel in the Fort if they would simply give it a little polish.

:rolleyes1 They paved Paradise and put in a parking lot :rolleyes1

Sad to see the tree go. It's the little things that make the fort different, not just clean comfort stations!

I agree, but I wonder how many people that have only been to the fort once or twice even knew it was there?

It's too bad they couldn't have cut it down and saved the base. Mount it and put it in the Outpost check in.

Exactly what I was thinking. Give it to me, I'd trim it down, polish it up and gladly donate it back to the Fort.

I was looking at the up close picture here and the one I posted on page one which taken just a few days before the tree was removed and you can see it looked like it had gotten worst, as there is no bark on it and looks like bugs were eating. I am going to miss it, as we went to see it each trip and take a current picture, going to be missed. But, the Fort is still an awesome place!

We might see it pop back up one day.

For only $14.95 take a last look at the lawn mower tree. ;)

Sad. It's little things like that that make WDW special (or should I say magical).
