My DD 17 has recently been diagnosed with CRPS and cannot put any weight through her left hip. She will be using crutches to get on and off the rides and I was worried about the moving walkways. Anyone have experience using crutches on them? Thank you!

I know most of them can be slowed down... we ask for them to slow it down to a crawl due to low vision. one that cannot be slowed is Peter Pan.
I'm thinking at the end on one day she will be exhausted. and her armpits will be very sore. maybe rent a wheelchair from an off site vendor? we will be doing this for out next trip )hubby had major back sorgery_ the y will deliver the wheelchair to your resort and pick it up at the end.

1) I have negotiated WDW on crutches.
2) ONCE.
3) Too sore under the arms afterward to ever try it again.
4) The moving sidewalks were not a problem.
5) Just rest the crutches on the sidewalk and lean into them, and the conveyor will pull you onto it.

We will have a wheelchair for her to get around the parks and she will only use the crutches for getting on and off rides, getting into restaurants, restrooms, etc. Thank you so much for your replies!

You can ask to have the moving walkways slowed. At most rides they may be able to accommodate, when it's really busy we've had reports that they couldn't/didn't slow it. However, both the Tomorrowland Transit People Mover and Peter Pan cannot be slowed or stopped.

Enjoy your vacation!

Be careful with the moving walkways, we asked for them to be slowed and everytime I've asked I was told with no uncertain terms that they cannot accomadate that. We do travel durning the summer so it is usually very busy, my mom had such a bad experience with the moving walkways she refuses to ride anything now that has a moving walkway and requires a transfer from a wheelchair (she fell on the moving walkway on the Nemo ride after we asked if they could slow it down, was told no but she wanted to try it anyway, she learned her lesson and hasn't tried another one since).

All in all if your daughter is struggling to walk and needs a moving walkway slowed down, if they refuse I highly suggest she doesn't risk it!

I recommend an ECV for your daughter so she can have the easiest time. We used CARE Medical for my mom and it was great. Best of luck.
