Dmil is currently walking unaided, but reluctantly understands the amount of miles covered she will need a walker/wheelchair/scooter...

For those times when she is on her feet-she can't move quickly-
I believe some walkways can be slowed or stopped-

Do you simply ask a cm at the attraction?
How does the process work?

I'm picturing also the exit from haunted mansion-is there an alternative exit point?
And the peoplemover?

Thanks in advance.:)

No that is the only exit but if she get on at the exit because of a wheelchair they can slow it or stop it and then will do the same when she gets off. All walkways can be slowed or stopped except People Mover and Peter Pan

They're supposed to, even though some say they won't - if they refuse you can ask for a supervisor. It's annoying because you shouldn't have to waste all that time waiting and arguing when you should be able to just enjoy your vacation.

I think some of the reason why they may not want to slow or stop the rides like HM sometime may be a safety issue. If they have too many poel on it that they need to do that for at once if they need to evac the ride that means more work for the Reedy Creek Fire Dept, as they have to call them in if they need to evac someone who can't walk on there own or with out assistance.
