Moving travel date

So it looks like school may be running over into a ABD my wife and have booked for August 2019 (long story but clinical hours can run even when the University is not in session). What options do we have, can we move our travel dates to August of 2020 when those dates are released, and than apply our deposit to that trip? Thank you very much.

Kinda bummed, and the idea of loosing the deposit makes me feel quite sick.

you can move your trip to a placeholder and then you have two years to rebook. So you won't lose your deposit. the only downside is if you do that you won't be able to take advantage of early booking discounts etc. because it doesn't count as a new reservation.
