Moving to Pittsburgh - Any Suggestions?

I'd love to join the meet too! I'm in the Greensburg/Jeannette area and work in Cranberry.

Awesome - I'm thrilled to hear everyone would love to make it. Is there a central area that would be best for all?

Pittsburgh is a very difficult place to move to and make friends. The people are set in their ways and not very open to new people.

Holy buckets, you actually met *all* the people in Pittsburgh?!
I guess you have never lived in New England. :confused3

OP, we live an hour outside the city. The people are super friendly and open. My husband was born and raised in New England and says about weekly that he just can't believe how friendly the people are in this part of the country. We do wish for more snow.

Southwest has good deals to MCO if you watch. Non-stop flights, too. :thumbsup2

I'm in the North Hills. But our family is both South Hills and Monroeville so I can travel anywhere to meet up.

And I work downtown too.

Well, it seems we have Dis'er from the city, north and south. So I suggest somewhere central, like Station Square. Serendipity, are you in Pittsburgh now?

I'm moving to Pittsburgh next weekend. How about sometime the third or fourth week of January in Station Square?

Just wanted to welcome you to Da' burg! I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, went to college there and worked downtown for about 5 years before moving out to Hershey. You will love it!

Make sure you explore all the neighborhoods and stop into all the little ethnic resturaunts. The mom and pop ones are the best. Buy your steeler gear now because every Friday will be casual day and everyone and their brother will be wearing a jersey! Pittsburgh lives and breathes "black and gold".

There are no grocery stores donton, but there is a Big Bird on the Northside and the Southside and also one in Oakland, that is a very easy bus ride. For fresh produce, meat and excellent seafood, head to the Strip.

We have a great bus system and the T is very easy to use also.

Hey All,

As you may have imagined the last few weeks have been CRAZY!!! Between traveling for work and moving things have been insane. The good news is I have safely moved to Pittsburgh. The bad news is I can't see my floor there are so many boxes . I'd love to get a group together and am open for any date - whatever works for all.

PS - I've cleared some room in my mailbox :goodvibes

:welcome: But the big question is...who are you rooting for Sunday? I can understand if it's not the Steelers, but are you a Jets or Giants fan?

Funny, I just tried PMing you 10 minutes ago along with others on the thread about a meet. DW and I are in and weekday evenings work best for us. Station Square seems to be central for everyone. :thumbsup2

Any Pittsburgh disers out there? I'll be moving to Pittsburgh with my husband this January. We will know absolutely no one so it would be great to make some friends!

...become a JETS fan...:rolleyes1
