Gratz!! So happy it finally worked out for you!! I actually spent a bit of time this weekend looking at houses in the Orlando area online. Not that I plan to move anytime soon. I'm on a 3 year plan. But it helps to keep the dream alive. Of course, my friend who lives there keeps telling me to stop with all the plans and just move down already.

Thanks everyone! Arrived in Davenport early Friday(about 4am!) and am finally settled in the new house(although my cat is till a bit freaked out!). Just finding my way around the area and trying to relax by my pool before work on Monday. My DP is here with me but heading back to NJ tonight. Luckily, he will be back with some friends on Oct. 5th so we can have our annual HHN trip at Universal!
Oh, and PS......why didn't anyone warn me about the lovebugs??!!?

I just returned from WDW with my significant other a week ago today because we got home at 1:00 a.m. due to a flight delay in Salt Lake City. He has been talking about moving to Orlando for nearly three years now. My former co-worker's instincts were telling her that we would be there by June of next year and that we would move between March and June while we were still down there the week before last. This subject is such a common one here on Disboards that I wonder how many of us who know each other only by a our screen names will end up down there together. I and mine are not looking for executive jobs though. We are old enough that we, and especially he, are thinking retirement-type jobs.

I have heard very positive things about an area called Winter Park, but it might be expensive given the number of times that I have heard that it is nice.

Oh, for the best steakhouse in town, drive down Hwy 27 south. Just past the Haines City Wal-Mart on your right is Manny's Chop House. Get there before 4pm when they open or expect to wait, but it's fairly cheap and VERY good!
