If you buy a house, try to buy one that does NOT have the driveway on the north side of the house. It will always be in a shadow and snow removal will be more difficult. If the driveway gets sun, the snow will often just melt and you will not need to shovel.

Getting around town is not particularly difficult; the entire metro area (with few exceptions) shares the same grid system.

Can't speak for the individual schools, but the majority, if not all, of the schools in the SW and SE metro area range from good to excellent.
