Hi all! My DBF and I are in the process of relocating to Ipswich, where I've got my first graduate job, but we've only spent a few days there so far. Does anyone out there know anything about Ipswich?! We've got ourselves a lovely little flat near Christchurch park, so we're nice and close for town, without being right in the thick of it.

We're really looking for any help or advice anyone out there might have. In particular we're looking for nice pubs, a good doctor, a middle-of-the-road Anglican church, and anything on the folkie scene (music or dancing), but all tips are welcome!

Thanks in advance guys! :thumbsup2

Hi there

you are moving to my neck of the woods :goodvibes

Ipswich is the nearest large town to me, albiet not that close with it being 25 miles away but I live in the sticks :lmao:

Christchurch Park is a lovely park, have taken DD there a few times to play and you can walk to town from there too. You are also pretty close to the swimming pool.

However I go there a lot so any questions send me a pm

Thank you for your reply Mrs Hobbes! It's good to know there are other Disney nuts in that part of the world, even if you are a little way away (I know all about living out in the sticks, my mother's home is in the countryside in South Wales :thumbsup2).

Ooh it's good to know we'll be close to the pool! Where is it, in relation to the park? With my Fibro, swimming is a really good way to build up my strength and keep myself fit, so that will be a useful thing to know!

One very important question I forgot to ask: where will our nearest Disney Store be? Like I said, a crucial question :rotfl:!

Are there any other little treasures we should know to look out for? As I said, we've only visited the place once, so if there are any good shops, cafes, pubs or restaurants worth looking out for, we'd love to know about them. We've found two old fashioned sweet shops within easy reach of our place, and one of them has a whole wall of shelves full of sugar-free sweets for me, and sells Jelly-Belly jelly beans :woohoo: (the other one may as well, but we didn't get the chance to look)!

I can't think of anything else to ask at the moment, but I'm sure I'll think of hundreds more questions to bombard you with soon enough :rotfl:! Thank you again!! :thumbsup2

i dont think Ipswich has a Disney store, Colchester doesnt either.
you may have to go further afield to find one eg Cambridge/bury.
im not sure where Christchurch is in Ipswich, i was from Colchester so know a few bits of Ipswich. i used to Like Cardinal park, the Cinema was great when it 1st opened and all the restaurants near by.
where are you moving from?
hope you like living there :goodvibes
