Moving reservation as far back as possible?

The UY for all my points is February, and I have points I will lose if I don't use them by Feb 2021. I have a reservation for the Fall, but now I am wondering if the resorts will even open by then. At this point I am really having my doubts and I think we may be in this for the long haul. Would it be wise to move my reservation back to January 2021? What is everyone else doing? I feel like Summer is out, and there is a real possibility that Fall (Sept-Nov) might be out as well.

I moved my March trip to August and my May trip to October, I’m holding out hope for June too,

I definitely think you have time to figure it out and my gut tells me we should know something by end of month of whether or not resort openings at least will be happening,

As long as resorts are open, we will be going. I might keep an eye out for the room situation for January too as you decide so that I’d you start seeing rooms disappear, it might help You decide.

I'm like you about thinking this will last much longer. I have a June UY with points that will expire May 31, 2021. I am hanging onto my October HHI trip right now, but I feel like we will probably have to move it. I could move it all the way back to May 2021, but we are planning a family trip there June 6-10, 2021 so we will probably book March to leave a little time between trips. I just hope that we can make both of those trips next year! I cancelled our November WDW trip and banked the points. We will try to go there next November.

If you decide to move the reservation, remember to keep your banking deadline in mind. (For a February use year, that's the end of September. Obviously, if you hold a January 2021 reservation past 9/30/2020, the points will expire on 1/31/2021. As so many here have realized, traveling late in your use year can be risky.

I will soon have a similar dilemma with my October reservation. Since my use year is August, I don't have to worry about a banking deadline. But I do need to cancel in time to avoid holding status if I want to bank to 2021.

I will add that my HHI points I will use late in my UY are ones banked from 2019. Use them or lose them. I assumed the OP had the same issue.
