Moving park reservation to new ticket - HELP

I really hope someone might have a creative solution for us. We have 3 day park tickets for this week (EP/AK/DHS). We had a death in the family and are juggling travel and will need to miss our EP day. Is it possible to buy a new 2 day ticket, transfer our park reservations to this ticket so we keep our AK and DHS reservations, and then change the dates on the current 3 day ticket for dates in the future? We have been on hold with guest services for over an hour.

You can.
BUT, you don’t need to “DO anything” to the reservations.
They will automatically work with any tickets that you have and use at the gate on those days.

Fascinating! So I should buy a 2 day ticket, and just scan that ticket in at the turnstile? It won't say I don't have a reservation?

As Robo said, you don't need to do anything at all. Park Reservations are NOT connected to any specific ticket. Having a ticket is what allows you to make the park reservation, but that's it. Tickets, park reservations, ADRs, FPs, room reservations, etc. are only connected through your MDE account. They are NOT directly connected to each other.

Thanks! OK, I now have both the new 2 day ticket and original 3 day ticket on our accounts. How do I designate which one to use when we enter the park. Also, do I need to change the dates on the 3 day prior to it's start date? Or am I better off letting it expire and using the value of the unused ticket in the future?

You can't prioritize the tickets yourself. In you case, the simplest way is probably to change the dates of the 3day tickets to a date AFTER your currently planned trip. That will take them out of consideration for this trip since they won't be valid for this trip. You'll still have to deal with those 3day tickets at some point - either extend the dates again or let them expire and use the value for a future trip. Be aware, that if you do the latter, they will disappear from view on MDE. They're still on your account, and Disney can see them, but you won't be able to. You'll have to call to have Disney apply the value to new tickets.

I believe you can go to Guest Services before entering the park and have a Cast Member prioritize the ticket you want to use.

Agree with moving the date on the 3-day ticket.

The computer programming can get glitchy and then you would have to deal with it. It happened to me when I had a dated single day ticket and a leftover non-expiration multiple day pass. The computer didnt prioritize correctly and I had to go to Guest Services when I realized a day was missing from my pass (and as previously posted, the unused dated ticket was not showing in my MDE - but Disney knew it wasn’t used). My suggestion: look at the ticket price calendar. Find your original 1st day of use for your 3-day ticket. Then find a future date that has the same price. This way you do Not have to pay additional $ for the new start date. And you don’t lose value if you picked a date that is cheaper. Example of how your start date affects your total ticket price (which is probably not new to you if you have now bought two sets of tickets).



When you finally go to use the tickets, you can deal with price differences then.
