ok, here's my question...

i booked a reservation onboard when we went in march...to take advantage of the 10% & stateroom credit. moved it over to our TA...sorry, not DU, because our TA was really helpful in planning our very first cruise (for march), and her prices were cheaper...anyways, i'm planning to switch over to one of the west coast sailings, when it comes out (tomorrow, right?). then, i'll look for other sites & compare prices...if i see something that is cheaper, can i move my "original" ressies from my TA to another TA...like DU or others, and still keep my discounts & credits i have? or will i loose that? does anyone know? has anyone done this, or something similar to this? please help! thank you in advance! :wave2:

I have not done this, but I would not think that your travel agent would like it very much or allow it. By booking through a travel agent, that agent/agency "owns" the reservation. That is, they would have to make any changes to it, including transferring it or cancelling it. By transferring it to another agency, they are in effect handing their commission to someone else. There may even be some kind of unwritten rule that travel agencies don't poach reservations from each other, but I don't know about that. If you find a better deal, you may have to end up cancelling your current reservation (along with the on-board booking credit) and making a new one, which probably will not make the difference in price worth it.

thanx for the quick response! yeah, it makes sense...we're very happy with our TA anyways...but was just looking at my options...

again, thanx! :wave2:
