Moving luggage for Split Stays

I understand that Disney will move luggage from one room to another, but I have a few questions.
Is advance notice required for this service?
Is there a charge?
What time should we realistically expect the luggage to show up at the 2nd resort? Will it be in the room or just at Bell Service?
Is the luggage "arrival time" based on the time you check out of the first resort? For instance, if we have our bags to Bell Service at 7 am, will they show up earlier than if we check out at 11?

There is no charge to move resorts, It will arrive anywhere between 3 pm and 6 pm. Most often ours has been there by 4 pm.


I always schedule bell services the night before and give them a window to come that is about 15 minutes earlier than we want to leave. We don’t have to but I prefer not To worry in the morning.

Once you are in your room at the second resort, you have to call for them. They are not delivered to your room.

We transferred today from Kidani to BWV. We called Bell Services around 9, and the CM arrived about 15 minutes later. He said our luggage wouldn’t leave Kidani until around noon, which makes sense that they’d wait until they had all the luggage from people moving from Kidani to another Disney resort. I’ve read that it’s transported to a central location and then sorted out for transport to the various destination resorts. We got into our BWV room around 3:30, and our luggage had already arrived so was brought up promptly.

Today wasn’t a very busy day as far as checkouts and checkins, so calling when we had our things packed worked just fine. But if we were transferring on a very busy checkout day, especially if we had an ADR to get to or a scheduled event, we would probably call the night before, as Sandi does.
