Moving luggage between resorts

We'll be staying at both DVC and an on-site Disney hotel this upcoming trip. A few questions about having Disney move your luggage between resorts.

1. Who do you contact to arrange this. I presume you just contact bell services?

2. Who actually moves the luggage. That is who is the appropriate person(s) to tip?

3. How much is an appropriate tip for this service. How much have others tipped?

Bell/luggage Services moves your luggage. It is appropriate to tip the CM that comes to your room to get the luggage $1 -2 per bag. It is also appropriate to tip the CM at the next resort who brings the luggage to your new room the same amount.

Yes

Agreed with DeeP - it was great to have express checkout, have bell services come get your luggage and move it to the next resort whilst DS and I were able to go to the parks

3. How much is an appropriate tip for this service. How much have others tipped?

I usually tip $5 to $10 - depends on the service received and how much luggage involved

One other thing - I think they do not move the luggage till later in the day so do not expect to be able to get it and your new resort/hotel until later afternoon/early evening

We recently had our bags moved from the AKL to BWV. The process was easier than I expected...

I tipped the AKL CM picking up the bags, as well as the BWV CM dropping them off...

All of our luggage arrived at BWV way earlier than I expected...

The Bell Staff will handle all details. I always tip on both ends and, as DeeP suggested, $1-2 per bag is reasonable.

Be sure to have anything you'll need with you. The bags often aren't available until after 4:00pm- even if your room is ready earlier. You may need to go to the Bell station to claim the bags (the Bell Staff delivered the wrong bags to us at the Contemp once and we had to go back down to find ours).

It is a relatively painless process.
