Moving done - But now REALLY need pixie dust and good thoughts

This will probably be my last update. I have a bit of cleaning still to do tomorrow Tub, toilet, kitchen sink, and bathroom and kitchen floors. We are still hoping to be out of here by 9 AM, and it's after midnight...so I guess I should have said I have cleaning still to do in the morning.

Oh wait, the hotel in Santa Fe has free wireless, so I could log in then.

And my friend who lives in CO...her DH works for comcast and he volunteered to set up our cable when we come into town, so hopefully we' ll be online earlier than I thought! We have an appointment with the apartment Comcast representative for Wed, but that is such a long time.

I hate cleaning. The good news, DH keeps apologizing for all the work, and how great I've been...That means guilt free shopping trip and new cricut carts.

Checking in from Santa Fe... unfortunately our friend can't do our setup early because of something to do with the cable phone part of our bundle. Phooey. Our complex does have a business center, so I will be able to get online once a day to check on what happened, but otherwise, this is it from the flip side for awhile.

Last update.

We are here. Our stuff is here (although a bunch is in the garage still to be brought upstairs). We have cable/internet again. So basically we only have the unpacking left to do.

DH is having a little trouble with the cable phone, we seem to be picking up another signal.

I am ready to setup my scrap space but I can't do that until DH gets a desk so we can see how much space is left for my stuff. Then we also have to buy a loveseat and a tv for the living room.

I can't believe this is happening.

DH's company started offshoring, and we knew his job was less than stable. But he had gotten some positive thoughts, and with our tax return and the government stimulus, we decided to go ahead and move. DH asked a bunch of times, if he should do this now, because he really didn't want to get a layoff notice a week after we got up here.

It was 4 days. DH got a 3 month layoff notice. His last scheduled day is June 30th, he has 4 months severance coming, vacation payout, so financially, as long as he can find something quickly, we should be okay, but this absolutely sucks. We haven't even gotten all of the boxes upstairs!

I don't know what I'm going to do about my swaps yet. I have the supplies, but I don't know if I have the desire to do them. I will give myself the weekend and see how I feel next week.

There is a possibility, small possibility that another manager at his company could have a spot for DH, but it's nothing to count on. DH keeps apologizing to me about making the move, not that it would have changed anything had we stayed in AZ. He would still have gotten laid off today, just would have had a little bit more money in the bank. His co-worker that also lives here got laid off too, so the 3 of us are going out to dinner to commiserate.

A couple of co-workers and friends have given DH some leads that he is pursuing, so we are feeling a tiny bit better today. The landscape is not destitute. One of them is a hard core amateur cyclist. She was in a race today and one of the people she was racing mentioned that she was from Denver and in DH's industry and they NEED people with DH's skill set, so she is going to pass on her contact info.

On a moving note, I have all my scrap boxes in one spot now...there are like 30 of them...is that bad? This includes all the scrap stuff and photo albums.
