Hi guys ... If I am staying at two different resorts @ WDW DVC do I have to take my luggage over to the other resort or will Disney take them there for me ?

I'll add that it might take a few hours for your luggage to arrive at the new resort, so if you need anything right away then pack a day bag!

We do split stay often. We just absorb the cost of using taxi or uber, rather than waiting hours for luggage to arrive. I heard to not expect luggage to arrive till something like 4 or 5 in the afternoon if you send the luggage with Disney. DEFINATELY pack a day bag! We typically try to check into 2nd part of split stay early. We will have breakfast and make our way to the park. We have had good success having our room ready relatively "early" that way.:goodvibes

wow! we are doing a split stay too in june and I was going have bell services move our stuff... maybe we will rethink.... have to be at beach club for character breakfast at 940.... have to move from boulder ridge to poly.... how much time should I allow for all of this? Thanks!

they make it super easy -- just have your bags packed, call bell services in the morning and they will pick up from your room and bring to your new resort. There is a time when you will not have access to your bags because it might take 3-4 hours to get to your new resort - so keep essentials with you and just plan to go to a park and go to your new resort later in the afternoon. Once you get to your new room call bell services and they will bring them up. We did this during our recent split stay. i was very impressed with how quickly bell services retrieved and delivered our bags (and we had a ton with 7 of us!)

cool... sounds like this should work for us! Maybe we should keep our swim suits with us... just in case once we make it back we can swim etc. while waiting.. but I don't think we will be to poly before 4... so I am thinking it will work out just fine...save us lots of time if we let them do it vs. worrying about it since we need to make breakfast at the beach club....

Transfers are usually picked up around 1:00 and they deliver to your new resort around 3:00. There may be a delay if a ton of people are transferring. One thing that I need to mention about transfers and luggage delivery from the airport. Often the transfer or delivery is blamed for taking too long when in reality bell services at your resort may be backed up or delayed and your luggage is at the resort but in storage. At WL it was 11:00 pm and our luggage had still not been delivered to our room. Bell services was going to put a trace on our bags when they found them in their storage area.

2 hrs for transfer seems quite reasonable. Don't know why I have been told to "not expect luggage" till 4 or 5. Perhaps the Dis'ers that have commented on luggage delay, their bell services was backed up? Would make provisions anyway to pack a "day bag" to swim etc. My instinct tells me not to depend upon bags until 4 or after, maybe even 5. :scared1:
