We just finished watching the 2nd HP film, the boys ages 9&13 were never really interested but I insisted we watch at least 1 to familiarize ourselves with the HP World. As you may have guessed we are all hooked now. Anyway I was wondering what other movies do you think we should watch to make the experience more fun. Is the mummy ride based on the movie with Brenden Fraiser? Thank you in advance

Yes, there are elements of it on the ride. You could watch it just to have a better understanding of what is happening on the ride. Other movies that you could watch are E.T. as there is a ride based on the movie that I know a lot of people aren't familiar with E.T. Maybe Despicable Me, if you haven't seen that one yet, since the Despicable Me ride may be open by the time you get down here.

The Mummy, Twister, ET , Shrek, Men in Black, Beetlejuice ( though the Beetlejuice graveyard revue is a show and the only thing from the movie is Beetlejuice himself),Blues Brothers ( again a little show), Jurassic Park . The Simpsons tv shows..

I would recommend you watch the 3rd Potter film- Prisoner of Azkaban. A lot of the elements of WWoHP originate in that book/film, as it introduces the village of Hogsmeade which is replicated in the park :)

Terminator if it's not to violent for your boys, Spiderman, X-Men, Fantastic Four, The Hulk, Scooby Doo, get familiar with all the Dr. Suess stories, Popeye. Just to name a few others :happytv:

WWOHP is heavily based on POA, GOB, and HBP. I also recommend watching as many Simpsons episodes as possible (500th episode was last night!), The Mummy, ET (Please watch this if you haven't. This is a big classic!), Jurassic Park, Popeye episodes, Dudley Do-right Episodes, Shrek, Men in Black, Despicable Me, and get familiar with Marvel characters.

All of the above, as well as HP 3 & 4. There are elements from Prisoner of Azkeban and Goblet of Fire (in Dragon Challenge and Durmstrang/Beauxbotans show) at the Wizarding World. If you watch the first 4 movies, you will be good to go with Harry Potter. You'll love it! And you will appreciate it more if you have read the books or seen the movies.

Thanks OP for the question, and to all that have answered. Will be going sometime this year and never even thought to watch some of these movies first. Good idea!

I have been intending to ask the same question!
Hadn't thought about ET, that would be a good one!
I had heard some say to watch Forrest Gump, if you go to the restaurant.
The waiters will quiz the customers.
We also watched the first HP movie, and got hooked!
We are so excited to visit this summer for the first time!
