Movies to see before visiting WDW?

Watching the end of Herc right now. Unfortunately I don't think they have any attractions with Herc. :( It's my favorite Dis movie.

Don't forget to watch Little Mermaid and see the show at the Studios. Great show. Also, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids had two attractions: Honey, I Shrunk the Audience at Epcot and the playground with giant plants at the Studios

We will be travelling with friends in April and Little Miss 4 knows all the Princesses, Pixar Characters and characters from Jungle Book, Lilo & Stitch, Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Lion King etc etc.

Who she doesn't know is Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald, Daisy - the original Disney characters. We've watched the planning videos, so she has seen the characters, but they don't mean anything.

Can you please recommend some DVDs so we can get her acquainted with them?

Tons of stuff out there with those characters, but a good recent animated film with all of them is "The Three Musketeers" (2004), 68 minutes long. It has Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisey, Goofy, and Pluto.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is GREAT for a 4 year old. All the classics, Mickey, Minnie, etc.

Another vote for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Its a show on the Disney channel every morning/day. I think Disney did a good job with the show and it helps get the little ones back into the original Disney characters.

If you are planning on taking them on Tower of Terror, Disney came out with a made for tv movie a few years ago. My 4 year old loved it and it didnt make the ride as scary. We also watched Haunted Mansion with Eddie Murphy so he could see parts of the ride.

I was gonna say that! Tower of Terror with Kirsten Dunst and Steve Guttenburg... THis was our fave ride...and after our 2nd or 3rd visit we bought the movie and now we absolutely love it too!!!

I need to request the video...DD is 19 months and I'm trying to work on helping her recognize some of the characters or at least not be scared of all of them.

We have two teenagers who have been to Disney many, many times. When we visit our timeshare in Orlando we don't always do the full blast spend-every-single-day-in-the-park-until-we-drop. But we do have a family tradition of seeing a movie together at Downtown Disney. When we arrive we usually hit Downtown Disney first, have a nice lunch and then a matinee at the big AMC theater at Downtown Disney. It is nice and cool - a great way to take a break from the heat. You can go online and see what will be playing when you are there. We have lucked out and seen brand new movies there on or just after their release date. And if you stand dead in the center of the lobby and whisper you will notice perfect acoustics; your voice bounces back.
