Movies that are based on books

I know there are a lot of books that have had movies made about them but I can't seem to find a good listing of what these are. With all the movies that have been released lately or will be in the near future, I was wandering if my Dis friends could give me some ideas of what to watch and read.

A few upcoming ones I can think of:

Nicholas Sparks (new Miley Cyrus movie)
The Lovely Bones
Percy Jackson series (Young Adult literature)

For TV, the Sookie Stackhouse series is excellent to read. True Blood is based on that, but the show and books are very different. I enjoy both though! Also the Vampire Diaries show is really good, so I am going back to read the books.

Another book I read recently that is FABULOUS is called The Hunger Games. I can't even describe it, but it was so good I made my husband read it (he hasn't read a book since HS) and he loved it too. It is currently in development for a movie.

Well, there's the next Harry Potter installment, of course, Alice in Wonderland, the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and yet more Twilight drivel. Apparently, a Ramona movie is coming out in April.

Okay, these are a bit more down the line as they're only in production now or will be starting filming in 2010, but I am absolutley giddy to see the promised movie versions of some of my favorite books:

The Temeraire series
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Secretariat: The Making of a Champion

I believe Julie and Julia was a book before the movie as well...
What about Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper too...
That's all I can think of in addition to what already has been mentioned.

Just can't remember the name of the book?
