Movie The Notebook

DD16 just recieved this DVD from her BF17. I haven't read the book or seen the movie but I've heard it is one of the best love stories. Do you think her BF is trying to send a message? I am probably just a sentimental mother but these two do seem to be very much in love. They're young and have their whole lives in front of them so know need to rush is my advice. He is a nice young man though and very thoughtful with my DD. I hope to find the time to watch the movie myself some time soon. So is it as great as I've heard?

I hate hate hate HAAAATE romance movies, but I LOOOOVED The Notebook. Go figure. It's just one of those movies that stays with you for awhile after watching it. Not sure if he's sending her a message or not.

I've read the book and seen the movie. The book is better (of course), but I'll tell ya... the movie even made my DH sniffle. He said it made him want more than ever to grow old with me. There could very well be a message there.

Hands down best movie ever...even DH agrees and he is not a romance movie kind of guy. Couldn't tell ya though if there is a hidden message behind her BF getting her the movie. I couldn't figure out teenage guys back when I was dating them so I def won't try now!

I told my BF that after I watched it (he refused to watch it with me). I was like, "Awwwwww, I wanna die with you!" I have no idea why I used that terminology instead of "grow old." He just said, "Ummmm.......thanks?" Haha. He still won't watch it though. Men!

I wouldn't read too much into it. It's simply a really popular "chick flick".

I really enjoyed it even though the twist was really obvious. IMO the actors are what made the movie. The two young leads were terrific.

Sounds like he could be a keeper. Any guy who recognizes that The Notebook is a good movie and then gives it to his girlfriend, he's a keeper. VERY romantic. You HAVE to watch this movie!! I also read the book and loved it. I think I loved the movie a lot because of the cast, Ryan Gosling is AMAZING in it. I like the girl as well, Rachel McAdams. SUCH chemistry. I actually believe they are a couple, I know they were for awhile anyway.

I think I'm going to order myself this movie from amazon.

I'm crazy about this movie and the book. Have watched it a lot and read the book several times. Be sure to read The Wedding, too. It is about their son and his wife.
The love (s*x) scene in the movie is pretty intense and has been known to be one of the best in any movie. I hope the boyfriend is not trying to send her a message about that!

I have to admit, that ran through my mind too. The scene is very hot and steamy.

Aww, that's really sweet of him.. I don't know, he might be trying to, but then again almost any girl loves a sweet love story. That was a really good movie though. I watched it with my grandparents and my boyfriend. My grandma and I were boo-hooing and my boyfriend and grandpa were both a wee bit choked up.

I have no idea if there were ulterior motives with the movie purchase. However, I can comment on the movie. This is a great love story...TOTAL chick flick. On my "tissue scale" this was a full blown 5 (I personally used at least 5 tissues while watching this movie).

Warning! There is a "lovvvvvvve" scene...I don't think any parts were exposed, and it was done as tastefully as Hollywood is capable of, but it's steamy none the less.

Get the popcorn, the remote, and the tissues on this one girl!

I really didn't like the book, so I was hesitant to try the movie. Oh my gosh, I'm glad I did. I absolutely love it. Definite tear jerker.

This is by far, my favorite move of all time. Just thinking about it right now tears me up! I have it on DVD and watch it at least 2-3 times a month. My DH is far from a crier and he bawled like a baby through this. The chemistry between Ryan and Rachel is amazing and you can't help but fall in love with both of them.
