With all the goings on I forgot to post this last week. Its officially the start of the Summer Movie Madness. There are some GREAT movies coming out this summer and it all started last week with Iron Man! What a great movie that was IMHO. This week Speed Racer, then Narnia and then Indiana Jones. This is just the month of May...can't wait for Wall-e and many more hitting the theatre!!

My Mom and I already have a plan to see Sex In The City on it's first day out. CAN'T WAIT!!!

Funny, that one not even on my radar popcorn:: Hopefully my wife doesn't drag me to see it...

Saw Ironman. It was great but 20 - 30 minutes too long.

Cant wait to see Sex and the City and Indiana Jones.

I'm not going to see Speed Racer. Hear that John?

And Mamma Mia starts om May 22.

Here I go again...my my...how can I resist...

Ooo, Sex and the City movie! Marrying Big!

But really, Kevin, Mamma Mia? Makes me want to stick ice picks in my ears.

Oh! I can't WAIT for Mama Mia!!! I rarely go to movies opening day, but I am planning to for Mama Mia!

I know I won't be seeing Sex in the City, never watched the show and no Speed Racer either, but I'm excited about Indiana Jones and Wall-E for sure!

I'm taking my nieces to see Nims Island today. It only gets 48 Tomatoes, but they have been dying to see it.

I hope to see Iron Man this weekend, if for nothing else, just to hear Black Sabbath in the big screen.

Indy....SO EXCITED I CAN'T STAND IT!

Narnia...THE WHOLE FAMILY IS EXCITED

Wall-E....GONNA BE SUCH A CUTE MOVIE

Speed Racer...LOOKS INTENSE

Where is P.O.T.C. 4?;)

Mamma Mia has Meryl Streep AND Christine Baranski,

That has fun written all over it.

This will be Meryl's second singing movie. She sings in one of my favorite movies of all time...Postcards From the Edge. Meryl plays Shirley MacLaine's daugher. It's based on Carrier Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.

Meryl - Remember my 10th birthday and you were dancing and lifted your skirt
Shirley - it TWIRLED up. I was dancing and my skirt TWIRLED up.
Meryl - But you weren't wearing underwear.
Shirley - Well...

Rent it....it's a great movie.

I'll go with John to see Speed Racer, because Racer X's real name is Rex

Indy 4 of course, Shia Lebuff is gonna be a big action star even though is is like 5'6 tall.

Sex and the City... where do you think I get all my great fashion tips, not to mention the latest in whats hot in the city.

Kung Fu Panda... though I will have to goto a showing at a time when I will look less like the creepy guy in the over coat that is forced by law to intoduce himself to the neighbors.

You Don't Mess with the Zohan... Adam Sandler is funny, he just is.

I am iffy on the Incredible hulk, I paid good money to see the first one and still complain that I want my money back.

Get Smart... i know this version is going to suck, because they rushed it and he has lousy writters, but Bernnie Kopell makes a cameo so count me in.

Love Guru, because Mike Meyers is just funny, he just is.

Wall-E but not till the second week... there will be enough little kids screaming in the theaters the first week.

There is a bio pic on Roman Polanski coming out in limited release this summer, I really wanna see it because he just really knows how to throw a party.

The Dark Knight... Heath Ledger is going to rock the joker. The joker was the scariest of the psychos from the original batman, not the 70's campy stuff, or the codpiece and nipple batman made by the hair dresser/costumer assistant. And in this it looks like the Joker is scary again.

Mamma Mia! I love the subtitle to the movie though, "a trip to Lourdes" because the generation it is targeted at throw down their walkers and dance in the aisles. And I haven't be able to hit an Agnetha falsetto since I hit puberty.

Brendon Frasier has two movies coming out this summer, yawn.

Ok, Hamlet 2 looks like it has the potential to be very very funny, but only at a midnight showing, with your best friends that are a bit tipsey.

and I would like to announce I am doing a one man show off, off, off broadway (Poughkeepsie) that is a tribute to all things High School Musical titled "Zack Effron shops for crushed chintz fabric to make drapes for his 4th floor walk up in Chelsea"

The 20-30 min that were too long were all in the beginning too...slow starter I thought.

I'll have to see Speed Racer, 9 and 7 yo at home (boys) It reminds me of Shark Boy and Lava girl and/or Spy Kids 3-D....eeewwwww...hope its better.

Some other good ones coming later in the summer also. Batman, Kung Fu Panda, The Mummy and Hancock to name a few.

You think it's going to suck??? They have lousy writers? Crap.
I was really looking foward to Get Smart. The show was hilarious.

i don't remember the details... but as I recall they brought in some punk writers to "punch up" the Buck henry script... and does Buck henry really need help being funny?

There is a lot of star power, but I just don't know... I want it to be good... which usually doesn't work out.

Let's See:

Iron Man: Have loved Robert Downey Jr. since Chaplin (big fan), and my eldest child is named Parker for Peter Parker, second child Thomas Xavier for Professor Xavier. This is what happens when comic book geeks marry. We couldn't be there for the initial opening. But, we are going this weekend.

Sex and the City: This is one I will have to see on my own or with my girlfriends. DH will NOT go see this, no matter how much he likes Chris Noth.

Indiana Jones: Another one we will HAVE to see. I have been preparing the kids with the first 3 movies on DVD. One thing I don't like is Lucas saying, "Don't get your hopes up." I know the prequels weren't THAT good, but still.

Wall-E: Opening Night. Have a 5 year old and 4 year old who own every Pixar film to date.

The Hulk: I am with WO here. I hated the initial movie. Loved the campy t.v. show, and my husband is a dedicated fan, it was between Banner and Xavier for Thomas. So, I am sure we will see it.

Get Smart: I think it was brilliant casting. The writing though will be the crux of the issue. That show was full of fantastically timed gags.

Speed Racer: Meh. Me and Japanime don't coexist well. I realize this is liveaction, but I can't get over male friends in high school and their torrid obsession with Japanime.

The Dark Knight: Ummmm... YES. Have seen every preview and got chills when I heard Ledger's laugh. It looks as though Harvey Dent finally makes his appearance in the franchise and we are introduced to Two Face alongside the Joker. As one reviewer put it so eloquently: Harvey Dent has been played by Billy Dee Williams, you have no where to go but up. The actor playing Dent in The Dark Knight is Aaron Eckhart who was in Thank You For Smoking.

That about wraps it up on my end.

OOOOooooo yeah GET SMART !!!!!!!!!!

I am 22 and loved the TV show!!!! All of my friends have never heard of Get Smart ???

I am shocked at statements like this!! like when people my age who also say they don't know who Audrey Hepburn is :scared1:
Uncultured youth???

I have no clue when most of these movies come out in the UK, although I don't think all of them are coming here, since I've heard nothing about Mamma Mia, however Iron Man and Indiana Jones are either out, or coming out soon, and I'll probably see them both. I'm week by week educating myself on the Indiana Jones movies as I had never seen one until Sunday. Thank god for the BBC showing them on sunday evenings :thumbsup2

I am sooooo excited to see Mamma Mia!!! Every few weeks I watch the online trailer just to keep up my anticipation. www.mammamiamovie.com in case anyone was interested.

AND it has Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

And Christine Barnaski plays the part of Tanya - (It's close enough to Tonya for me ;) ) - what's not to love about that.

And for all you Pirates of the Caribbean fans, Stellan Skarsgard (aka Bootstrap Bill Turner) is in the film also. pirate:
