Moved from the Budget Board: anyone else eliminating High Fructose Corn Syrup

I haven't seen the Coke made in Mexico or the Throwback Pepsi/Dew. I thought the Coke may be in the Mexican food section of the store, but they don't have it.

I was shocked to see how many products have HFCS in it. Rice Krispies and Special K, supposed good cereal, bread, soup, spaghetti-o's, Ritz crackers, yogurt, ice cream, ketchup. And I'm sure there's more.

The Coke I always buy at Sam's Club. They have a case of the glass bottles for a reasonable price. I have yet to find the Throwback Pepsi. I really want to try it as I always prefered Pepsi over Coke. If I don't find it soon, I am going to send an email to Pepsi. But then again, maybe it is just selling to fast. I know some friends of mine found it at Food Lion, but I couldn't find it when I looked.

I even am amazed at how many smaller, more local/regional food companies use the HFCS. There is a dairy here that sells their milk in the glass bottles still (and even has home delivery in some areas) that uses it in its chocolate milk and ice cream. I always liked the Raspberry flavor, but as soon as I saw they use HFCS in it I haven't purchased anything from them since. :headache:

I got some of the Pepsi Throwback for DH who enjoys a daily Pepsi at work for an afternoon caffeine boost. At our store, it was not on the regular shelf, but I found it on an endcap in 12-packs. It was indicated that this was only a temporary special purchase-type deal. Does anyone know if that is perhaps only for that store or if Pepsi themselves is only going to be making it for a short time?
