Move to Orlando

I was wondering if anyone has moved to FL for Disney. I know it sounds odd but I am seriously considering moving down with my girlfriend because we enjoy the area so much. Have you heard of anything like this? Am I crazy? She's a teacher and would be able to find a job fairly easy. It probably wouldn't be a permanent move but I would love to experience going to CA grill on a whim to watch the fireworks, take a boat from WL to MK, etc. anyway, was just wondering your thoughts?

I had ALWAYS wanted to live near Disney! I remember I used to say to my friends that if I could just pick a spot to move it'd be near Disney. Now many years later I do live reasonably near there. (about 40 miles away) And I love being able to go. So...if it's something you can do and have the resources (job possibilities) I say why not!

My husband is in the Air Force and we are going to be moving to Tampa this November. When it came time to put in for orders and he asked me where I wanted to go, I said Florida and the closer to Disney, the better! Sounds crazy, no! I just can't believe the Air Force gave us order to Tampa. Now we won't be too far away!

If you like the area why not. The pay scale is lower there though.

My DH asked more people at WDW about their jobs on our last trip that you would have thought he was going to apply....needless to say we would need to make some major lifestyle changes. And I can not deal with heat and sun(very fair/skin cancer)...so I think I would have to work indoors in Florida

My husband and I were planning on moving to Celebration. He was then offfered a promotion so we ended up not going. Now we keep saying if only we had moved we could go anytime. We are leaving in 9 days for DW. When we think about it the money we spent taking trips down there probably is more than his raise. I don't know if I 'll ever be satisfied anywhere but close to the mouse. So No you don't sound crazy. Unless of course I am.
