mousesavers says new PS system coming

Wow, thats a great change. Less phone calls, and less hassle.

I just wonder about getting CRT- Will they be asking all that info before they will schedule your meal? That could mess things up.

LOVE IT! Now, I wonder if you could book CRT for like your second day of travel. That would put you ahead 1 day of everyone else. We don't plan on making that reservation, but that would be a great advantage to staying on site for some people.

My thoughts exactly! Just a little added bonus for staying onsite. Of course, I'm sure those staying offsite won't be too pleased.

When they first opened upo the concept of the Priority Seatings, they were only available to people staying in the Disney hotels. Then they let anybody make reservations 30 days out but people staying on site had the 90 day period, which definitely was an advantage.

Yeah, that would slow things down a bit! But it would slow things down for everyone, so I guess it would be a wash!?! :confused3

But it's GREAT news for on-site guests . . . LIKE US!!! :cheer2: Can't imagine staying off-site anyway!!??!!

I still don't like it. Luckily I don't do CRT as I have boys but what if you are traveling for 4 days and others who may be traveling longer and check in a few days before you take up all the CRT reservations before you can even call and start making yours? That will make a few people unhappy.

I would think that this would make it harder to get ADRs like CRT.

Example - Bob is going to WDW and makes ADRs for CRT on his 10th day of travel. Mary wants to make ADRs for CRT on her 5th day of travel, but b/c Bob gets there a few day earlier and was able to make ADRs for the same day as Mary but days earlier, Mary is out of luck.

Does anyone else see it this way, or am I crazy?

So they're rewarding folks for making longer on-site hotel reservations.... that sounds like a pretty smart move on their part.

But it will stop people from holding multiple CRT Adr's that they don't want -

For example - ideally you want an adr for CRT on the Saturday you are going but to be sure that you get at least one chance to go you start calling on 90 days out for the Tuesday you arrive - and you get through and get your ADR BUT you are still calling 90 days out from Saturday for the one you actually want. So you end up with 2 CRT Adr's (one of which you eventually cancel).

This way, you will know if you can get the Saturday adr and there is no need to try (and maybe even get) an Adr for CRT for every day of your trip just in case you don't get the one you really want.

I hope all of that made sense. :rotfl:

As long is Mary is staying on site and booking at the 90 day mark--there aren't enough Bobs to take all the CRT reservations. I think this will make CRT and other hard to gets easier for all the on site folks and harder for the rest.

so with a 14night stay when would you be able to book ARs for days 11-14?

Wow, that's a hit to the patrons of the Swan & the Dolphin. They have always been considered "Disney" resorts as far as on site benefits are concerned. With this new policy people staying at both resorts may have difficulty securing the "hot"adr's (like CRT). That stinks, we were planning a stay there next summer but the adr thing is a big deal for us so now I have to re-think..wonder why they weren't included?

Too bad that I have already made my AR's for my vacation. This is wonderful, less phone calls, less charges on the phone, and the ability to knock out the entire trip in one phone call.. much much easier.

When we called about AR's, there was a calculation error on the PS system. Technically it was 90 days, but the system would not let us book until 89 days. (this was over Mem. Day weekend). The tech guy that DH is mentioned if there was something wrong with the software allowing some value.. blah blah blah --- see how I pay attention. He did this tech guy rant to the CM, and they stated something that the software would be changed sometime. I found that interesting.

Will that leave people out of luck during peak seasons? We are only able to stay 6 nights this Easter break because of DH's limited schedule. Will all the CRT spots be taken by people staying for 10 nights in the 4 days before we can call? :confused3 (Yes, we are staying on property.)

Great bonus for onsite guests! I wonder why Swan/Dolphin was not included?

Probably because Swan and Dolphin reservations are not in the Disney Central Reservation computer, so there would be no way to link the ADR's to a reservation.

Since Disney doesn't own S/D, they can't participate in a lot of the 'perks' of staying onsite....DME, charging back to your room, not sure about pkg. delivery to your room from the park shops.
Yes, they can still use Disney transportation buses/boats, but I believe they have to pay an addtl. fee for the service.

The people that have their 90 day window opening on Monday are really going to be the lucky ones....they get to pick and choose any and all that they want!!!

I have 2 thoughts on this...

-this is going to mean longer than normal hold times. Normally I'd be making at most 2 ADRs in my 7 am call....CRT and maybe dinner. Now if I'm calling at 7 am b/c I'm trying to get CRT I may have up to 15 ADRs to make for my week long stay and I'm not going to call back to do it, I'm going to get it all done in that one call! I'm sure I won't be the only one so you figure what used to take me 10 minutes or so to do will now take potentially take close to an hour! Factor in a bunch of people like me and that means there are others on hold for a long time. (this is another big perk to having my TA do the ressies I guess! :) )

Will all the CRT spots be taken by people staying for 10 nights in the 4 days before we can call? (Yes, we are staying on property.)

well, it's not 4 days earlier than you can call, it's more than that! Say my check in date is December 1st. That makes my call in day Sept 2nd. I want CRT for my first morning, December 2nd. That means people with check ins 10 days prior to December 2nd have been able to call for that date before I begin calling. So check ins from 11/23 have been able to be calling for CRT before I get the chance. Will there be enough people calling to fill up both lunch and dinner before I get the chance....I guess time will tell. It's possible during peak times. If you are staying for a week you shouldn't have a problem because you can always try for later in the week but if you are doing a short stay or you have other things going that mean you can only do CRT on one particular day, it may be more of a challenge. We just have to wait and see!

I like the perk for onsite, I just would prefer to see it be onsite guests can call 100 days in advacne, offsite can call 90 days. The old 90 days/30 days thing left a LOT of time for onsite guests to be calling and filling things up before offsite guests got a chance but 10 days wouldn't be as bad.

Time will tell if it's a good thing or not! :)
