We are staying in a studio for 7 nights, so will they actually clean our room on day 3 or just do the towels and trash? If we wanted to have the room cleaned how do we set that up and how much does that cost? Can we set it up for every other day?

This is our first time using our points and we are trying to figure this all out.

TIA,
Erika

A stay of 7 nights gets you trash and towel service on day 4 with check in being day 1.

You can pay for as many extra cleanings as you want. Just notify Mousekeeping when you arrive.

How much do they usually charge for extra cleaning?

Have you ever rented a DVC stay? If not, you might want to wait until you experience no housekeeping before you pay extra to have it. When we first joined DVC we thought that we would miss daily service but now we actually like not having anyone coming into our room. We feel more at home and we don't have to worry about someone arriving at an inconvenient time. Now if you have little ones crawling around on the carpet everyday and don't want to vacuum yourself, then that might make a difference. If you just want clean towels more often you can order them. If you don't feel like making the bed, don't! You're on vacation! Perhaps you could wait and see how it goes and then only order cleaning if you decide it's really worth the $30/day.
In any case, I hope that your first stay on your points is magical! pixiedust:

Thank you sooo much-we are so excited!!! I think we will be fine without it, just wondering what our options are....no way would we pay for it for everyday. I was just hoping for the new towels and shampoo, etc...so it sounds like we will be great!

If we pay for the extra packet of towels, do we get to keep all the towels or do they take the dirty ones? I remember things not drying really well in HI and my DH likes to take alot of showers.:)

If you leave them in the bathroom, they will take them.

One thing I noticed that could cause confusion:

"Rental Guests (non-Members or Disney Vacation Club Members paying rack rate) receive Full Cleaning Services every day."

They could have worded that better, it looks like people "renting points" "non-Members" will get full cleaning.

Chalk us up to another DVC family who enjoys NOT having mousekeeping in every day. I love that I don't have to "secure" all of our valuables every morning before we head out.

We've never found the need for extra towels...what I will do sometimes if they seem not to dry fast enough is over night while we're sleeping I will spread them out a little bit by hanging them over the corner of the bathroom door or over a chair back or something which leaves more space on the towel bar too. I have also left the exhaust fan running in the bathroom over night or while we're out before too. (I just wish they would wire the switches so that the light in the WC was separate from the fan. They are often on the same switch.)

Ok we are renting points at AKV Kidani in June and have a few questions.

It is just my son and I going. We are staying in a Studio villa. How many towels and wash clothes will they provide?

Also, do you know if they provide towels at the pool, or will we have to bring those from the room?

All Walt Disney World Resorts (except the Value resorts) have towels in the pool area, this includes the DVC resorts.

A studio should have the equivalent of one Towel Pack, 4 Bath towels, 2 Hand towels, 4 washcloths and a bath mat. Basically each bathing area get a towel pack.

Great! Thanks for the info.

4 bath towels for 4 days for 2 people??? I think I may have to request more. How do I go about doing that? At check in? Or do I just call housekeeping? The cost is $6 for another pack correct?

Yes $6 for an additional pack, you can call housekeeping. With 2 people, we've never needed more. We hang the first bath towels on the rack to dry, on day 2, use the two remaining towels, on day 3, the first set s dry and ready to use, then the morning of day 4, use towels from day two...then that aftenoon get fresh towels.

If in a one bedroom or larger unit, we just launder them in room.

Thanks Chuck!!! Good strategy! I think that is what we will do too!!

I did not know this!! So you have to either bring your own or use your bath towels for the pools at the value resorts?

Yep! You either bring a towel from the room or bring your own beach towel from home.

I knew that Moderates and Deluxes had towels at the pool, but wasn't entirely sure about the DVC resorts. Really glad they do. One less thing to pack! :rotfl:

Arrive Saturday Day 1
Sunday day 2
Monday day 3
Tuesday day 4 complete cleaning
Wednesday day 5
Thursday day 6

If this is correct it seems strange they give me trash and towel day before we're leaving :confused3

That is correct, the schedule then repeats beginning on day 12.

You are only getting trash and towel the day before you leave because you are leaving on day 9. If you stayed another night or two, it would make sense.

DVC goes by that schedule, can you imagine the problems if they tried to customize the housekeeping for each individual stay?
