Mousekeeping???

What if we set the money out of the way somewhere (like in the bathroom or on the window sill) and left a treasure map. Nothing that would take up their time, but something cute and simple.

I think a very simple treasure map is a fun idea! I'd keep it EXTREMELY simple tho~ for some reason I just see coins sitting on a sink or such? If that's the case, I'd definitely make sure to still put the the coins in something labeled "X marks the spot ~ Thank You Mousekeeping!" or something silly so that they absolutely know that is the treasure they were intended to find. Because if it were me, I'd avoid taking any money out of a guests room, even if there was a map, unless it was clearly labeled "THIS IS FOR YOU" in some way. I hope your coins go over well and you get some towel animals! They always look so cute in pictures I've seen! I wonder if every Mousekeeper can do them? :confused3 I'm so sorry if this conversation is terribly off topic.

Design board? Mousekeeping envelopes? Have I missed something here? I want a cute envelope to leave for mousekeeping!!!! :guilty: HELP. I'm confused!

here on disboards there is a design board near the bottom...the awesome designers do many wonderful things, including "tip/restaurant gratuities" and mousekeeping designs, designs for shirts, journals, you name it and they most likely do it:) I don't know where I would be without them.. I make my meal tip and mousekeeping envelopes ahead of time and fill them before I leave and then just leave them at the appropriate times...they are truly a blessing...go and check out that thread...BUT, I may warn you, you will need lots of time as there is so much to look at..enjoy tho:)

Why would you send grown women that have only limited time to clean a room on a treasure hunt?

I agree. Although the idea is cute I think they would just say to heck with it and move on to the next room; as they wouldn't want to put their job on the line taking up too much time in any one room.

In my head I saw this idea going over more like a quick map that has a few squares and say the rooms "bathroom" "dining area" "beds" or something and then an X is in one of the squares while the note says something like "MOUSEKEEPER TREASURE CHEST" and be sitting on the table. She'd see it on the table and have to go in the bathroom anyhow for towels etc. and so she'd just pick up the envelope/treasure on her way in? I'm not sure if that's exactly what the OP would do, but surly, it'd take no more time than throwing out a piece of paper and picking up your tip from any room? The keyword here is "simple", yes?

Not to be rude ore discriminating but our "Mousekeeping " lady did not speak English.
She was lovely and tried to make us happy in every way but when I asked her for a few extra towels she did not understand. I had to go to here cart en point out what I was talking about.

I have a question for anyone who has ever actually WORKED in house(or mouse)keeping. How do you like the dirty/used towel situation handled. I find its like the whole tipping thing everyone seems to do it a little bit different. Some say leave in the tub, others on the floor and still others in/on the sink area. I figured I would go right to the source if I could and ask. It's probably not a huge deal but I work as a server and I know there are things that well meaning guests do that irk me sometimes. I know they are tying to be helpful so I'm not uppset, I just wish it was done a little differently.

Around here, most people I know really dislike being tipped in the $1 coins. :confused3

I have no idea about in Disney, but just a warning, that they may not be as well received as you are hoping.

This is why we don't ever tip mousekeeping. If they frown on gold dollars then they must expect a tip. You earn a tip.....:coffee:
