has anyone been lucky getting the little towel animals from mousekeeping?

we left mousekeeping money almost every morning on our last stay and not a towel character to be seen, is it just your luck? Or a particular resort?

We stayed on-site for our very first time a few weeks ago (at Sports), and I made sure to leave tips each day in hopes of a towel animal or two. We didn't receive any! I was disappointed, because I knew my kids would have loved to see one. Maybe next time!

We didn't get any while we stayed at the Contemporary last week. The room was cleaned well which is more important to me anyway.

We left a tip every day until a small amount of money my DS accidently left on the end table was taken.
From then on - no tip for housekeeping. Plus I made sure to inform the hotel about it.

I left a tip each day also, and only one day did we receive something, not really and animal, but the mousekeeper put our stuffed Stitch in a circle like, almost like an inner tube:)

Honestly, in all the stays we've had onsite, we've only had one little cute animal from a washcloth (and that was right after the horrid 9/11 when it was so quiet at WDW). We have never thought of it as a given, so not been disappointed.

I think I'd rather have a clean room and fresh towels.

On our cruise, the darn attendant kept pointing out the towel animals she made for us. We were so tired at night, I couldn't have given a darn about them. I just wanted to get to sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Disney Cruise). Oh and don't get me started about the romantic turndown - I would have paid them to skip that!!!!!!!!!! Rose petals, ew. Sorry I have been married too long...

this past time we received a cute doll, my daughter still has it.

i dont think it so much depends on the tip you leave, but on the mousekeeper you have. some may not be so creative.

Tipping doesn't equal towel animals. Depends on time a housekeeper has, how busy they are, etc.
Many have unfortunately stopped doing them all together. They were having guests tracking them down and screaming for their towel animals as if they were a God given right so many have just stopped doing them.
