I understand that when you rent a studio or anything you will not receive mousekeeping like you would if you pay cash, but what do you do about towels and trash? Do we need to take a laundry break halfway through our stay, and do we take our trash out to a specific location? If we do need to do laundry do you have to pay to use the machines (we are going to be in a studio)? No big deal, I am excited about saving $$$$...just wanted to know since this will be our first time renting! :cool1: TIA!

If you are staying at least four nights, you will get clean towels and the trash removed on the fourth day of your stay (check in is day one). If you stay at least eight nights, on day four you will get a full cleaning. If you stay more than eight nights, you will also get a trash and towel day on day eight.

You can pay for extra trash and towel. I think it is $10 per day. You can also pay for full cleaning, that cost varies by the size of the unit.

Depending on the DVC resort you are staying at, there will either be a laundry room at each pool area (OKW and SSR) or one in the building (BWV, BCV and VWL). There is no charge to use the washers and dryers, but you may have to wait to use them since all the studio users can use them and they are limited in number.

Bring your own detergent, dryer sheets, fabric softener, etc. You can buy it there, but it is about $1 per use.

There is a trash room on each floor if you need to remove the trash before they come to get it. At OKW and SSR, there is a trash room for each building.

Enjoy your stay. One of the nice things that I like about DVC is the fact that I don't have to worry about housekeeping coming into the room except for every fourth day.

The 4th day of your stay (check in is day 1), you will get fresh towels and the trash will be removed. If you feel you need fresh towels daily, you can request a towel pack for $6 each day. Yes, you can take your own trash to the dumpster (and are encouraged to do so if you need to). There are extra bags at the bottom of each basket. Laundry facilities appear to be the pay type machines, but you do not need to use coins in them. Depending on which DVC resort you are at, they might be in the pool areas.

Thanks for the responses...looks like we might be staying at the BWV, and we will be there for 7 nights. I would prefer to not have someone in the room so it is good to hear that you don't have to pay to use the washers and dryers. We will stop and get groceries and laundry items on our way to BWV. BTW...Do they provide untensils and plates in studios even though you don't have a full kitchen? Thanks again,

Melissa

A studio will have paper plates and bowls, real coffee mugs and glasses. They will also provide plastic flatwear.
