It is my understanding that previously you could request housekeeping services in DVC villas for a fee. That was suspended earlier this year. Has anyone visited recently and made a request for housekeeping mid stay anyway? We have a Riviera 2BR villa booked for Dec 19-24. We are clean group but I would prefer to schedule a cleaning after the third night. Any chance this might be possible?

Extra housekeeping even for a fee is not available.
Call HK from room to get extra supplies for room/trip.

The service was discontinued so they are not able to do it for you.

Unfortunate but thank you to everyone for the prompt replies. Hoping the paid option returns at some point in the future.

You could still ask. Or maybe ask the person who's doing trash & towel and offer them the 35 bucks or whatever it is.

The lack of additional service is likely due to the existing labor shortage. DVC extra-fee housekeeping was suspended at the same time Disney dropped daily service for cash guests at all Disney hotels, for which it is now only once every other day. Thus, it is probable we will see it again in the future but it might be a long time before the labor problems sufficiently improve.

During our stay in Sept/Oct, they came in every day and emptied the trash. No cleaning, but it was nice to have the trash emptied every day.

I stayed at BWV 9/29 to 10/6. Trash pickup everyday, usually while we were at the parks. On day 4, which was Trash and Towel Day, we came back and nothing was done. I figured they might be running late. We were getting ready for dinner when a housekeeper came to pickup the trash. I asked him if he was doing the towel change, he looked like he had no idea. He said I can get you towels, so he did go get them and took the old away.

About the only way to guarantee they come is to send everybody else to a park or downstairs and get in the shower. No. That's not a joke.

Or be staying solo in your villa!

I usually take a very early or late evening shower to avoid the inevitable intrusion.

If you’re solo, you can keep the latch on, so they can’t come all the way in if they think you’re not there and use their key to unlock the door. If your family is expected to return, you can’t use the latch.
