Mousekeeping doing laundry?

I was just looking at a fact sheet for the Fort Wilderness Cabins and saw this:
"For those who don't want to do their own laundry, bags are left in the closet of each Cabin that will be picked up by Housekeeping. Campers may contact Housekeeping as well for laundry bags and service. Laundry picked up by 8:30 a.m. is returned by 7 p.m., except on Sundays and holidays."

What are the details of this? Do you have to leave money or do they charge a certain amount to your room or...? How does it work? I usually do laundry once or twice while we are there but honestly I'd love to not have to worry about scheduling it in. I didn't realize this was a thing and I'm having a hard time finding more info. Thanks!

They charge per item and it is billed to your room. When you check out, you pay for it then.

I haven't seen the Cabins fees but generally it is very expensive - a few $ for a bra for example.

The laundry room is right next to the cabin pool, so it's easy to spend a couple of hours lounging at the pool and doing laundry. If you stay on the 2500 loop, it's right there so you can hang in your room while it's running instead. It's a big laundry room so we've never seen it full, usually only 5-6 machines in use at a time, out of about 20.

If you do a search, you can find prices. It will probably be the same as any other Disney resort - quite high and priced per item (and it may or may not be done how you like - I've had hit or miss at resorts in the past, not Disney, but have had a couple dresses dry cleaned at Disney that came out just fine and were not too expensive to me).

For laundry, I do it myself at Disney. Not worth the cost to launder items when you can do it yourself.

I was going to post that list again. I don't think any prices have gone down at all, but they probably have gone up a bit.
