I booked the special rate for the Mousefest for 12/1-12/4. The confirmation says rate does not include the mandatory $10 resort fee. I thought this was discontinued!?!

I tried to add the night of 12/4 onto the ressie but she said that there are absolutely no specials or promotions for that time - no AAA, AP, Gov't. discounts -NOTHING!

Our flight leaves at 4:30 on 12/5 and I need to extend our stay by one night but I don't want to pay $500 for the night (2 rooms @ rack). :Pinkbounc

We stayed at the Swan a few months ago and not only was there a $10/night resort fee there was also a parking fee tacked on. Kinda makes those special rates a little less special. My SIL complained about the resort fee (they did not have a car) and got them to take it off...not sure how, as I did not witness the event...I was afraid to watch!!

Yep, you have to be careful at swan/dolphin, the definately have the resort fee and the parking fee. It can really make the room charge add up quickly.

The resorts are wonderful and the ammenities are nicer than any disney resort..so you are still getting a fantastic deal. I personally just hate the extra fees, I like it to be all rolled into one neat price.

I thought that they discontinued the $10 fee. That's why I'm confused!?! I just booked it this weekend so I shouldn't be charged any fees.

From Dreams Unlimited -
Resort Fee: This resort has dropped the resort fee as of August 1, 2005. Those booking in July will still be required to pay a $10.00 per night service charge. Please note that this fee is charged directly by the resort and will be added to your bill at check-in. Any issues with this service charge should be directed to the hotel, and not Dreams Unlimited Travel.

My understanding is that they just started enforcing the resort fee charge. I read that a few years ago, you could talk your way out of it, but not so anymore.

Hi,
I think the resort fee stopped in the middle of July.

It's a "resort fee" which is $10 for the newspaper and use of the health club.
Thanks! And everyone has to automatically pay this regardless of whether or not they use the health club or want the paper? That stinks!

I was not charged a resort fee when I stayed at the Swan earlier this month. The person who checked me in crossed out the information on the resort fee when she handed me the little folder for my key. There is a $10.95 charge for internet service now.

Karen ~ is that $10.95 internet fee per day? We used that all the time when we were in the room - very useful for checking the weather radar and restaurant menus!

It was $10.95 per 24 hour period for the Internet access. I actually was charged for it twice for the one day I used it because I unplugged my computer to lock it up while I was at the parks for the day. The front desk removed the charge no problem.

I was told the fee was wavied when I made the reservation for Mousefest. They made it sounds as if it was part of that deal. I didn't question it since I had read that the fee and things it covers will not be added to you bill unless iti s something you wanted (ie. newspaper, spa time, etc.). My online confirmation does say the fee is there though. I figured the computer hadn't been updated. I need to call again.
