Mousefest 2008 -- Will you be there?

I (quite by accident) found out that I had booked my DCL cruise for Mousefest 2008 (Dec 7). Are any of you going to be there or have you been in the past (cruise or land portion)?

I'm starting to think it will be near impossible to switch my post-cruise night to OKW or AKV if it is such a busy time at DVC, especially with an extra 700 or so self-proclaimed Disneyaholics wanting to stay on-site.

Does anyone who attended last year have a trip-report they'd care to share?

Thanks!

It looks like we'll be there for the land portion, and I'm so excited! It turns out that DH's school schedule is such that we had to push our November WDW trip back to mid-December, so Mousefest here we come! Now I can hardly wait for them to publish the '08 Mousefest schedule.

I'm going to be on that cruise. :)

I've been to Mousefest the past few years, and it's a lot of fun. DVC rooms can be hard to come by that time of year, but if you book early at your home resort, you should be fine. Then you can try at 7 months out for the other, and go on the waitlist if you can't get it.

I did write a trip report, but I haven't put it on the DIS yet. I need to get on the ball with that :)

I've gone each year since 2004, it's a blast! Unfortunately, we won't be there in 2008. The dates for the cruise and the land portion are later in December and that doesn't fit with my work schedule. We'll still be going to Disney but will be on land only before Mousefest starts.

I'm also thinking of booking. I was there quite by accident this year and met some fellow DISers. It seemed like fun. I was planning to go that time of year anyway, so will try to book in the next few weeks.

I already started calling day-by-day for pre-cruise at BCV (those 6 am mornings on the west coast are killer), but would like to trade later for another resort on the 11th. Since that is the beginning of Mousefest, I might not be so lucky, but I'll still try -- that is, if I can remember at the 7 month window!

Do you know if they have any special events on the cruise for Mousefest, or is it just more or less an informal get together in one of the lounges?

BTW, I'll be looking for that trip report... ;)

Do you have any trip-reports for me to read? 2004 through 2007 will just about do it.... :rotfl:

Sorry, I've never done a trip report in my life. Try the link to the Mousefest site though as there is a lot of info there for last year and previous years, too.

We booked the Mousefest cruise without knowing it was that.
All the events they put on you can participate in apart from some private meets for that travel agents put on for their customers. I had a fear that the whole ship would be taken over somehow, but really apart from the times we joined in we never noticed any group activities. I think there were around 170Mousefest cruisers. It is up to you what you want to join in with.

I did register, and with that you get a mini navigator of their events and a chance to take part in the stateroom door competition. They were great to see, but I didn't participate as I am useless in that direction!!!:lmao:

I would love to do the cruise again, but not this year I'm afraid.

We also were there for the land portion and joined a couple of meets.

I just firmed up my AKV reservation for Dec 10 - 16 so it looks like I will be there and will try to attend some events. I can't wait. It will be so nice to meet the people that have made my planning so much easier.

Hmmm. I am in the process of booking AKV for early December and it looks like the land part of Mousefest aligns to the end of my trip. I have never been to Mousefest but I may try it this time.

I think my dates will coincide...can someone fill me in on Mousefest?

Does anyone have a guess as to when the current year's mousefest info starts to be posted?

What info do you need? It will be late summer or fall before you can register and meets will be added almost all the way until Mousefest starts.

The 'sea' portion of MF starts on Dec 7, the 'land' portion on Dec 11. I would imagine that the MCMCP meet will be that night, the 11th as well. I'm going to both parts this year. The cruise will be a first for me as part of MF....but I've done the land portion 3 times now..this will be my 4th. Each year I do more and more.

We'll be going to some of the land meets for the first time. What is the mega Mousemeet like? Sounds like a blast.

I think that you pretty much answered my question. I was wondering when you can register, etc.

On the MVMCP meet, how does it work? Do you buy a ticket to MVMCP yourself for the night of the event? Or do you buy your ticket through Mousefest?
