I know I read this a couple of months back but now I can't find it. Somebody mentioned that Disney will/could have embroidered mouseears in the room when one arrives. We will be staying at the CR mid-June and just thought that this might be an extra little touch for the little ones :earsboy: I am assuming one would just call down to the CR and go about it, but like I said this was in a previous thread.

I did that several years ago staying at the BC. I phoned the hotel a week or two before the trip and made the arrangements, and the cost was charged to our room.

I would check, because I was under the impression that this service was available only for concierge guests. If you're staying concierge email the IPO and they will be happy to help :flower:

I've ordered the new golden Mickey ears hats to be in our room when we arrive, but we're staying concierge, so they are taking care of it for me. It may be possible to ask Guest Services of whichever resort you're staying at if they can do that for you. It can't hurt to ask! :)

I know that if you go through WDW General Merchandise to place an order, they'll have your items delivered to the gift store at that particular resort and you can pick them up there. I would definitely recommend calling the CR directly and see if they have a different way of doing it. The only problem that I forsee is actually having them in your room when you arrive. As you are technically not assured of a particular room until you're standing at registration and the keys are cut. They would probably hold the items at the desk and hand them to you when you're checking in. Best to call them though.

I was recently contacted by another DISer who wanted a Pal Mickey delivered to their hotel prior to checkin. They were not staying conceirge at the Poly, so the hotel would not do it. I ended up picking one up for her and delivering it to the hotel. I had to leave at Guest Services and it was going to be given to them upon checkin.

I don't believe that the hotel wants to get into things like this because it takes a lot of extra effort for them, especially things like hats that need embroidery.

So, no trouble with concierge doing this. I would really like to have something special IN the room when we walk in. I'm sure you called/wrote the concierge about the request. But, what was the mention of WDW General Merchandise by TamiMcMan? Is that a site to select a couple of items? I did see disneyflorist.com. Is that the florist to use to order things to have in your room prior to arrival? One last question...Do you think there any chance of getting an autographed pic of Captian Hook? I don't know why, but he is my son's fave.

I think there is a CL thread, sorry if I should have posted there. Just seemed that this thread was active on the topic.

You've probably noticed a few web sites that offer "park shopping" services. Well, Disney Merchandising is the department of Disney where you can order the products directly from them. They do not have a website, so you'll need to have a pretty good idea of what you want. Because it's direct, you won't be paying a service fee and you'll get the product for what it actually costs in the parks. Here is their contact information, Telephone: 407-363-6200
Fax: 407-352-6369 Email: wdw.mail.order@disneyworld.com . If you're not staying concierge and the CR customer service can't get it for you, then this is a good option.

You also mentioned the Disney Florist. You can call them and ask to have a basket put together with the ears added. They will deliver the basket to your room, but not until after you check in. Unfortunately, unless you're staying concierge, I don't think there's anyway to have them in your room before you arrive.

sometimes they can't place things in the room BEFORE you get there. because they need to wait until you check in before they do that.

last year, on our honeymoon, my husband had a fruit and chocolate treats basket with a plush bride and groom mickey & minnie delivered to our room. he wanted it to be in the room before we got there, but they said that they had to wait until we checked in - it was with guest services at our resort.

an hour later, it arrived. still unexpected to me, and still excited about it, although, it was after we entered in the room.

i really want one of those gold hats though...

good luck and have fun!
