Mouseboat Question

How much to rent mouseboats?? Is it for 30 minutes or an hour? I've rented before, but can't remember.

Also, is there a package deal - we had it at WL once, but this time we'll be at Coronado Springs.

The family package has been re-instated at WL, but it's more expensive now. I think it's $249 (something close) for the week, and it's limited to 5 people now. I'm not sure of the hourly rates, but they do rent them by the half hour and for a full hour, rates are around $30 for a half hour, and maybe $50 for the hour. Also, there have been new mouseboats that are now in use at all MK resorts. You need have a liscensed driver over the age of 16 in the boat to rent one. The old rule of over 12 is no longer in practice there. So, if you have someone who isn't liscensed and/or under the age of 16, they need to have a liscensed driver in the boat with them to be eligible to drive.

That's licensed automobile driver right? Not boat license? Because I know in NH we have licenses for both, but I only have a drivers license.

Does the GF have a plan for boating like the WL does?

No, it's only available at the WL. You do not need to be a guest at the WL, I believe, just need to rent the boats at that location.

The rates are correct (boy was I off) but the age information is outdated. The change to beingover 16 and being licensed was a change that occured earlier this month.

jelo511, is correct any printed information stating ages is out of date. Due to a very serious accident recently involving young drivers the changes have been made for rentals at all Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon locations.

At this time the age remains the same at the smaller likes such as CS, Beach, Yacht and BW of 12 and older.

I read on Mousesavers that there are 2 plans; a Family Plan (4 hours for $115) and a Captain's Plan (unlimited for $199).

Have these plans been replaced with something else?

We'll be staying at the Poly in June and are looking forward to using the new "sea raycers". The family boat rental plan is available at all the WDW resort marinas (GF, Poly, WL, etc). Unlimited boat and bike rental is $239 for up to 10 days for 4 guests.

Yes, they increased the cost to $239 now that they have brand new sea raycers (replacing the old water mice).

In order to use the plan at the Polynesian or Grand Floridian you have to be staying there, hence the comment that the plan is only available at WL. The plan at WL is open to anyone staying at a Disney resort. Since the OP is staying at CS they would not be able to get the plan at the Grand Floridian or the Polynesian.
