Anyone know the story....I am disappointed to read this:

Dear Mousesurplus Guests!!!

Please be patient while we work our magic!

My name is Sarah, and as head of the performance improvement consulting team hired by Mousesurplus, I'd like to assure each of you of the positive direction Mousesurplus LLC is heading. While we work to identify issues, develop solutions and restore value, we look forward to the opportunity to answer your questions and address your concerns.

During this transition, our Disney aficionados are working 24 hours a day to restore the magic. Currently, we are not only rebuilding Mousesurplus in every conceivable way, but are also continuing to find amazing treasures and collectibles we didn't even know we had! We are sure they will delight both young and old, and are thrilled at the thought of unveiling them soon.

We welcome the chance to build more positive and enjoyable relationships with our guests. Although we are not able to correct the past, we are eager to assist guests, new and old, as they experience all the magic Mousesurplus has to offer.

It is our goal to make Mousesurplus the "happiest place on eBay", and that will only happen by making your wishes come true.

I noticed that they recevied 11 negative responses last month, maybe it's time to "regroup" the company.

I was interested in ordering 3 different items that would have totaled near $1000.00(pre-shipping). I sent them 10 emails inquiring about shipping rates to my zip code and whether or not I could wait till all 3 items were off auction and ship them all together. I never recieved a single response from them. 10 emails?? From a prospective $1000.00 customer?? Great business they're running. I hope they go out of business.

I ordered something from them awhile ago and I received it & am very happy with the item....however it did take a looooong time to receive it. I've read a lot of complaints that there are a lot of problems communicating with them and also a lot of problems with shipping times. I was surprised when I saw a week ago that they didn't have any items listed for sale, but at least I know now they are going to try and improve things, so that's good I guess.

I have been to their location and it sure didn't look very organized. Maybe they will be better.

maybe that sums it up best...I wanted to go and see and they gave me wrong directions twice!!!! I was driving around in the rain trying to find them and finally gave up (I did call from the car and couldn't have been far away but they couldn't answer a basic question like if I was on 417 coming from WDW do I turn left or right when i get off the highway)

Interesting.
I bought somethng from mousesurplus.com a month or so ago. My experience was a live and learn, but on my end too. Not just theirs.
The only thing they did in error was give the moving company I hired the wrong merchandise.
But they did try to recify it with their own staff and at the time I needed.
As a forewarning though ---
Using Ebay with them can create issues.
I bought my item direct from them, over the phone.
When I called them to let them know the wrong item was delivered (because of what they had given to the movers) right away they wanted to know if I had bought it on Ebay.
I got the impression had I bought it off Ebay I would have had to deal with Ebay, who would go to them, yada, yada, yada. :dance3:
I paid more by not going through Ebay. But that took away stages of grief IMHO.
The owner really did do everything he could to make his end right. And he could have been a stinker about it, even though it was his responsibility.
Looking back, I would have done this entirely different. I would have rented a truck, gone there, and picked out my own merchandise.

Mousesurplus.com only have (from what little I saw) a little room with two people doing their Ebay items.
The woman who answers the phones is very nice.
There is one woman I spoke to a few times who can be a little gruff. But she ended up being very nice to me too.

Anyone wanting to find them -- they are in an industrial park/distribution center area. Look for a large warehouse of Ashley Furniture. They are right across the street from that. Ashley you can't miss. Mousesurplus.com you could, even by driving by.

From their website:

There ya go -- any Ebay specialists who want to move to the Orlando area? ;) :wizard:

I sure am glad Mouse Surplus is regrouping and attempting to improve their image!

We bought Wilderness Lodge furniture from them on eBay this summer. The auction closed the last week of June. We paid with Paypal 2 days after the auction ended. Our order was to be shipped on 2 pallets. We received the first one on August 2. Many phone calls and emails then went by. We finally received the 2nd pallet during October (last month.) Throughout the calls and emails we were constantly asked to verify what we had purchased and our shipping address.

Mouse Surplus sure put a damper on what we hoped would be the "magic" of bringing pieces of the World to our home. Needless to say, our experience was disappointing. We did not leave negative feedback, but chose to not leave any. Their listings stated they would leave negative feedback for anyone who leaves the same for them. What a shame.

We actually would like to do business with them again because they get unique items we would like to acquire. In the future, we will consider picking up items while on a trip to Florida.

The powers that be at Mouse Surplus offered us nothing for the mistakes and inconveniences of receiving our shipment almost 4 months after we paid for the merchandise.

Does anyone know if they are still doing business out of their warehouse?
Thanks & Pixiedust to all!

We were there in October and I would agree with you.
I wasn't sure if taking pictures was allowed, so I didn't try to take any. It looked like only about 1/8 of the warehouse was open to the public, but you could see into the other part (it was partly divided by wire link fencing). The part that was open to the public was fairly messy. The other part looked absolutly messy.

If anyone wants to go there, I'd suggest going on one of the internet map sites to get directions from their hotel. We did that before we left home and had no trouble finding it at all.

Wow! It sounds like we should count our blessings. We also bought Wilderness Lodge furniture, our only dealings with Mousesurplus. Fortunately we had a very positive experience (except with the postal service here, but that's not their fault). DH bought it just before we went on vacation, so he asked them to delay shipment for 2 weeks. They did that, but fortunately, we didn't get forgotten. And when the armoire arrived, Mousesurplus had surprised us by including the room curtains, which the auction (at least the one we bought on) hadn't noted. And we also got the remote control for the TV-no TV, though!

I've been there several times and have bought quite a few items from them. Their warehouse is unorganized, seems very much like a close out store setting. There is a lot of what I'd call junk there, but there are great things to be found there too. I got this armoire that was in a resort for $50:

I also got a champagne bottle that was in the final scene before the rehab of Pirates of the Caribbean, not to mention 2 bedside tables from WL and a cute hidden Mickey shower curtain.
They have quite a few ride vehicles for sale and one full section of a monorail just ready to be snatched up.

With Christmas coming up, my husband has forbidden me from going there.:guilty:

I went to Mouse Surplus that last time I was in Orlando less than a month ago and picked up some items! It's so much easier to be able just to walk in and buy items. I got a mirror from the Polynesian, which has a special place in my heart because I got my hair and make-up done using a mirror just like it at the Poly in June! :bride: I also got a Poly shower curtain with the adorable hidden Mickey's! I'm going to be obsessed once I move to Orlando! My DH's new office is right next door! Can it get any better!? :yay:

I must say all of their items are in pretty bad shape and most items need to be repaired or touched up. They don't take care of it at all to get it from WDW to their warehouse. Every one of the mirrors was damaged. I was lucky to get one that just had a little damage. They were all in good shape at WDW and then they are all just stacked up, so the screws from the mirros scratched and dented every mirror below it, above it, etc.

I had to go buy paint and do a lot of work on the mirror to get it back to it's perfect shape. The shower curtain took a lot of cleaning to get the stink out! :lmao: I still can't get a lot of the water stains out. It stunk in that pile of shower curtains in the warehouse! :rotfl:

So, I bought a Wilderness Lodge furniture set as well, in early Oct, by going to the warehouse. I needed to delay picking it up because I was building a house and it wasn't quite done. I've been calling off and on to make sure it's still good and I talked to Brian, the owner. Well, I called today after a friend said that Brian wasn't there any more.

I called back to find out that yeah, Brian has "sold" the business and there is a new owner. I was advised to "come as soon as you can to pick up your stuff" since they still have it. I'm getting a Uhaul tomorrow to go pick it up!

They've always been somewhat disorganized, but that was offset by the friendliness of the owner and the coolness of the stuff. Not sure what the new owner's plans are, but I'm hoping he keeps the business going and improves it.

Glad to hear it wasn't lost or "reshelved" in the transition. I would love a report of what you find when you get there.

Good luck
Sandy

:furious:

DO NOT under any circumstances purchase anything from them! They take your $ for months, do not ship the product and then "miraculously" find out they have over-sold the item . We supposedly purchased a few items from them last July. It is now December and we are having to threaten a lawsuit just to get a refund! They will not retuen e-mails and have yet to send us a refund.

FYI, I guess the new owner is really trying to get his/her act together. I just got an email and they have 140 items on ebay right now. (I will only share this info if you promise not to bid against me ;) )

Yikes!

I was heading over there next week for some WL armoires. Our dressers have decided to quit after 9 years and 3 moves. Hope I still can get them.

Brian was a very nice guy. Back when the place was really small, my DH actually applied to be an ebay specialist. The pay he offered was not enough to make it worth the commute, otherwise he would have gladly done it.

A friend had a pallet shipped a few years ago and had several problems. We bought a bunch of Poly furniture, but picked it up ourselves and didn't have any problems.

We went to the showroom on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The sign said they were closed. We figure due to the holiday. We went back the next week. The sign said they were open but the front doors were locked. There was a propane delivery man there. DH talked to him and they both went to the office, which was open. The DM wanted a signature and DH wanted to ask them about the store. There was nobody there. The DM found a man, but he would not sign the papers for the delivery, he said he did not work there. We were extremely confused and never went back.

Wow. Professionalism at its best. What a way to win customers.
