Mourning The End Of Baseball Season

I should have added, I live in Texas now, and the Rangers are in the play offs, but born and raised Philly burbs person, so HAVE to go with the Phillies all the way!!

I'm with Pug. Not mourning. Boys of Summer are still here for me...

GO YANKEES!!!!

Am I upset that we're Wildcard and don't have home field advantage? Yes, but the Yanks go hard so I'm not that worried.

And since you're a Red Sox fan, it's in my blood, I just can't feel bad for you.

But I will say, Boston is gorgeous and has some really great food spots.

NO NO NO NO NO GO TWINS!!!!! :cheer2:

We didn't need no stinking wildcard...we WON our division...LOL

Should be a good series...Hopefully the Twins can finally pull something together on the Yanks...they haven't been successful in the past postseasons...Maybe this is our year!!!
:thumbsup2

Anyone else out there mourning the end of baseball season? My Red Sox have gone home, the winds are cooler here in Boston and it is time to close the windows, put on long pants and cover my feet. NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! :sad1:

There is nothing that compares to October baseball. For those in the playoffs...enjoy!

Yes, I sure am...season White Sox ticket holder, I'm sure you didn't need to hear that. Your Sox have a little more promise for next season.

Our son has special needs so he is really sad he has to wait till spring again for baseball, his included. They are so sweet to him at the ballpark lots of hugs goodbye at our last game.

I do like football but the Bears game on Sunday was an absolute misery to watch. Loved the Hawks season last year for sure!!

I did watch the Yankees post season last year as I love Nick Swisher, got to learn about the wonderful charity work he does when he was in Chi town. Jim Thome is also a favorite just an all around great guy, he would pop in to the local Dicks when he was with the White Sox since he lived nearby and sign autographs.

NOPE! Not mourning anything!

Go Phillies!!!!!!!

:lmao:

Yes Go Phillies!!!! BUT .....ONLY..... if the Twins lose to the Yankees. If my Twins get to the WS, then all bets are off...LOL....

I was mourning the end of baseball in June.

<- Cubs fan...

Aww. One of my dearest friends is a Cubs fan, too...I've been listening to him bemoaning their play since early summer. Me, on the other hand, I'm a Cards fan and am so angry at the way they "played" this year that I'm actually kind of glad the season's over (for them, anyway). As my friend lives in Dallas, his backup team is the Rangers, and since I just moved to Orlando, I've decided that my backup team's gonna be the Rays (went to a game at Tropicana Field back in June. Sure, it was only to see Barenaked Ladies afterward, but still. I feel like I now have a tie to the Rays.) So it looks now like our 2 teams will be battling it out in the ALDS. Trying to get excited for it.

I am mourning more than the end of our season being a Nats fan! But we sure had some great moments, have some amazing rookie players who will have great careers and a Strasburg on the horizon. He's out of his cast and soft tossing. Congrats to all who are in the postseason and I look forward to enjoying my favorite sport without feeling sick to my stomach the entire time! :thumbsup2:headache::sick:

AHHH please let the Twins win. I do NOT want, under any circumstances, a phillies/yankees game again. That would be a tense series with the boyfriend haha.

Although I'm a Yankees fan I mourn the end of season in general.
I like being able to see 5 games a week or at least have the TV on while I go about doing chores.

The Yanks better start playing better or they'll be home soon. The last few weeks of the season were very aggravating.

I can't wait for Strasburg to come back. He was amazing to watch.

BTW, I think Nats stadium has some of the best ballpark food. They bbq beef and corn on the cob was fantastic! :thumbsup2

I'm a big O's fan, too, and the last two months gave me hope for next season. I also love my baby Rays, which left me on the horns of a dilemma when they went head-to-head! As long as a loss wouldn't hurt the Rays in the standings, I cheered for the O's (I'm so fickle!:rotfl2:) I'm so happy I have at least another weeks of baseball, then the MLB network all winter!

GO RAYS!!!

Queen Colleen

No mourning here! First playoff game is tomorrow and my son is so excited he is bouncing off the walls.

Go Rangers!

GO PHILLIES!!!!

A lot of people will be leaving work early tomorrow - 5:07 start time??

I feel you. The only good thing about it is the Mets finally axed their GM and manager today, so, at least they are looking to make some changes.

Even though the Mets played abysmal once again, I am still sad baseball is over. At least I have football. And yes! Good ridden to both Minaya & Manuel.

I am looking forward to watching the playoffs though. Any team but the Phillies and Yankees making it to the WS is fine with me! I'll be pulling for the Rays & Giants though.

Gotta add some REDS love to this thread.

And although I do love baseball, I am so happy it's time for a little
