I live at the beach so if I wasn't going to Disney it would be mountains so the family can ski. We've vacationed in New Hampshire several times and like it there.
Beach. I live in the middle of both being in NC but I prefer the beach, don't really like the mountains. When we do go to the mountains, I always find myself look for Big Foot.
I moved from a landlocked area to the coast so that I could see the ocean every day if I wanted. Therefore my answer is obvious, the beach! I love it here!
I love the beach, I'm an hour from Banff, so it's was camping in the mountains every weekend growing up. Now give me some sand, water, love palm trees (and a cold beverage) and I'm happy.
Now, don't get me wrong... The mountains do have their appeal. Right now I am remembering bike-riding thu the cool morning sunshine and mist at beautiful Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains. And, there is definitley value to sitting by a cascading mountain stream.
But, there is just no contest!
Give me sunshine, white sand, clear water, waves gently rushing up to shore, only to recede just as quickly... How about some tropical foilage and a frosty frozen tropical libation. Ahhhh!!!!!
We will be on the beach at Destin, FL in 6 weeks!!!!
I like both to be honest, but have to live near the beach for the sea air! Last year we did a wonderful tour of California, Nevada and Arizona but the mountains around Lake Tahoe and Yosemite were stunning
I too live at the beach and prefer to vacation at the beach. Not my beach... I want the clear blue water, baby waves, white sand and don't forget the frou-frou drink!
All that said, I would never give up my once a year white water rafting trip in the fall!
