Does anyone know if Mountain Dew is available in the UK - I read it was supposed to be - it is such a refreshing drink on a hot day _(not that we have them in January) It is always our first drink at Seaworld - DH always makes a beeline for the Bud!

A few years back you could get it in the supermarkets here, but it wasn't the same as the stuff you get in the US - less caffeine, from memory - and it didn't sell well. It was available at one time from www.cybercandy.co.uk.

I love this stuff too!! :teeth:

I did hear that the colorant that they use in the US to make it so green isn't allowed here (just noticed that I spelt colorant in the US way, I obviously have withdrawals! :rotfl: )

Have you tried the red version? That's Yummy too!

I really love Mountain Dew but whenever I've had it over here it always brings me out in a rash :guilty: Never seen it in the US before - might have to look out for it in Sea World :)

drinks also sometimes taste different when made with different water..

there is a drink made in Michigan called Vernors Ginger Ale that can't seem to be made anywhere else......it doesn't taste right unless it's made with Lake Huron water....(the water used in the Detroit area)...

it's also one of those things that if you haven't grown up with it, you think it tastes like....i'm not sure what, but not pleasurable....whereas most detroiters love the stuff....or at the very least, it makes us think of home...

it tastes nothing like regular Ginger Ale, in case you were wondering...

as for Mountain Dew - we always called it Mountain poo when we were growing up....

we cant get it here in wakefield but then what can we get lol

i love sierra mist but i have never seen it here

I love the Mountain Dew Code Red :yay:

I LOVE MOUNTAIN DEW!!!!

I like the red version as well.

Would love a can of Mountain Dew right now!!! :lmao:

Sure I've seen it in UK supermarkets, but I think all pop tastes different in the states :wizard:

it does. It tastes different all over the world and it also tastes different in different parts of the US. For two reasons - different formulas and different water.

Coke for example, uses different formulas in different countries as well as different regions of the US (coke in the northeast US is based on a slighty different formula than coke in the south, etc.).

I didn't know that :confused3

I think the US Mountain Dew isn't made here because it has too much caffeine in it for UK regulations.

However, you can buy it (and other US drinks and sweets) at Bluewater.

as far as Coke goes, they use slightly different formulas as a result of taste testing they do.....different parts of the US have different taste preferences (sweeter, less sweet, etc.)...also differnt countries....the coke made where i live now is much sweeter than the coke you can buy in the northern US...

and yes, water makes a big difference in taste....

I had noticed that drinks taste different in the US to their counterparts in the UK. I like the different choices over there :p
