Motorola Driod Phone

I considered the Rogue before I got the Droid. I ended up getting the EnV Touch instead of the Rogue, and then returned that and got the Droid. I liked the Touch and the Rogue almost equally - there were a couple of little things that made me choose the Touch instead, but they were both very nice. I liked the Touch while I had it (and I think I would have liked the Rogue as well, given how similar they seemed), but I love the Droid. I don't know if the differences would be worth the price increase per month to everybody, but they definitely are to me.

I don't know much about the Eris. I wanted the physical keyboard of the Droid so I never seriously considered the Eris, but it seemed like a nice phone.

If you haven't already, I suggest going in and playing with all three of the phones you are considering. You might find that there are things you especially like about one or really dislike about the others.

OH MAN!! BF's Droid was delivered this morning and I got it all put together and charged. I WANNA PLAY WITH IT! But BF is still at work so I can't switch his phone over until he is done with the old one later today.

I know this might be a little off topic, but I am making a semiright move considering waiting when my contract is up in the spring and waiting for possibly and Iphone for verizon. If the iphone doesnt come to Verizon i am going to get the droid

Hey all!

With the Droid we have the Unlimited Data Plan. Do the minutes that you are on the internet/using data count against your talk minutes?

TIA!

I am going to guess no-they don't with the Blackberry or Palm.

My best friend is an avid Blackberry user and her $30 a month covers all the internet charges. The phone/talk usage has its own plan. I would assume Droid would be the same. Good question though.

No they do not, and I agree, Droid is the coolest piece of tech I have toyed with since the iPod Touch.

Well DS#1 got a Droid 'cause his laptop broke and it will take 3+ weeks to fix the mouse pad. and so I was eligible for upgrades on the family plan.. so DS#1 got a Motorola Droid. He has a job plus is a college student and can pay the extra $30 per month .He was changing his Facebook status at the best buy store.. so 'cause DS#1 got a Droid, DS#2 wanted one and although he is a jr in high school, he has a job too and will pay the extra $30 month. and then since both kids were gonna have a Droid.. me too.. after all I can't let the kids have all the fun..
SO I got a Motorola Droid!!!:cheer2: I am not sure all the workings so I signed up for a class next Sat..but if you see me at WDW trying to figure out the Droid.:confused3. it is okay to help me!!!:confused3 I need all the help I can get..;)

How much did you have to pay for the phones with the upgrade?

I'm so happy that so many people love the Android platforms!!

That just mean's more app's for me to choose from. When I first got the G1, there was barely any to choose from. :guilty:

And a quick FYI - I'm talking to a developer at my work. He specifically got a Droid so he could make some app's - and was kinda lost as to what to make.

I have put a bug in his ear, and told him about *us* (the Disney obsessed) and told him how BAD we need WDW app's. And he was totally on board! :dance3:

Soooooon, we should have some WDW app's from him - with all the info I've been sending him, and I am tickled PINK about it. :woohoo:

The Dell price? Ooh ... I want to hear more about this.

I asked for a Droid for Christmas. I am OBSESSED with technology and I can't wait to experiment with it. Does anyone have suggestions for a case for it? I don't want anything overt or cheesy ... I'd like something elegant.

they matched the Dell price of $119 per phone..

Thanks--since we are getting this for DS for Christmas but not picking it up until February I wanted to make sure it was in the price range as the rest of the kids' gifts.

WELL COOOOLLLLL... I was at Walmart for something else today and noticed that they had Droids-I looked at them and on the card it said you could "extend" your plan so I asked and we were able to get DS17 a phone, added to our plan AND got the phone for $100 less then we would have paid at Verizon :cool1::cool1:. The only problem was that we activated the phone so DS got an early Christmas present today (the look on his face was PRICELESS). He looked at me and said "all I wanted was the IPod Touch-I didn't need the phone" (in a happy way). He gave me a HUGE hug too so that was worth it.

Now hopefully he lets me play with his phone--they are really cool!!!

I've been reading up on the Droid the past couple of weeks and think I'll upgrade after the holidays.

My dh upgraded to the Droid a few weeks ago and he loves it.

One of the features I think is so cool is the voice search. We were coming home from seeing the movie Old Dogs on Thankgiving and were discussing how old John Travolta was. None of us knew, so I took his phone and said "how old is John Travolta" and about 30 seconds later it came back reading John Travolta is 55 years old.

We were also looking at buying tickets to a Bengals game and trying to figure out where the seats were, so my dh just said Paul Brown Stadium seating, and it brought up a map of the stadium.

WOW---that is really cool. I think you pay extra for that though, don't you??

No, it's just part of the $30 a month internet package you have to buy (which I think is pretty standard with any smartphone)
