My cousins are meeting up with my family & I at Pop Century for Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. Two out of 3 of them will be needing either a motorized scooter or a wheelchair to get around. They can get around a little bit but not much. We won't be doing a park either day...probably just go to Downtown Disney or if possible, maybe a little bit of resort hopping, just to check out their decorations.

What do you suggest? Can we get either one of those items at the Pop Century? Then if we go to Downtown Disney ~ do they have to get one down there or can they continue to use one from the hotel (if they have them to rent?)

I'd so apprciate it if someone could shed some light on this for me! TIA!

You could rent them for them at a outside company and then you can take them where you want.

The hotel's do have a few wheelchairs that they lend people, but they are intended to be for emergency's, not for getting out of rental costs. These are also supposed to be used only at the resort, but people have reported taking them elsewhere. I would not count on this route if you need one.

I believe you can rent a wheelchair for the day at DTD, for use while there, but can't take it away from there.

If you look at the DisAbilities FAQ's at the top of the first page there is a lot of info in there about renting and where to get them and a lot of other info that might be useful to you.
