I have had many a motorcycle in my day yes only 36 years old but I have been riding for a long time. I do not ride on teh street any longer to many idiots in their cages out there for my taste and to many idiots new riders that think they own teh road on their shiny new bikes. I rode sport bikes my last being a CBR600F4 that I converted inot my racebike 6000 dollars on motor work and another 3 grand on suspension upgrades etc and it was a little rocketship. It weighed in at about 350lbs with all fluids and had 118 HP at the rear wheel and would push 185MPH. I used to do many charity rides when I rode on teh street but I no longer ride at all due to knee problems as per the Dr's request I gave up the bikes but not the hockey LOL. So what do you ride???

DH and I also ride

He has a 93 Yamaha Virago 1100 and I have a 84 Honda Magna 500.

Do a few group rides but not too many, we have a group of about 8 friends that all have bikes and we go for a early Sunday morning ride together....less idiots on the road. Also since I live north of Toronto we get to ride alot of back roads.

But DH does.

He has Harley..and I am a motorcycle widow!
He goes on rides every Sunday and Charity rides in between. Also has done trips to Vegas and various parts of NY State.

I have been on it once! Sorry, no air bags, no me! I love lots of metal around me! :thumbsup2

minnie56 are you ME? LOL I am also a Harley widow and I am also too chicken to ride on the back. Went on it once and that was enough for me!

He's planning on selling it probably after this summer though. It cotst WAY too much to insure and he doesn't get to "play" as much as he'd like. It's going to be a sad day around here when it gets sold... for him anyway. hehee I told him he should buy a scooter but he didn't quite go for that. :rotfl:

MissKIA

Darn voices in my head!! Maybe I AM you!! :lmao:

I think of it as hubby's mid-life thing and keep telling him to look-out for mine! I think he would get rid of me before thinking of the 'baby' going! I certainly took second place in the pecking order around here!!

I know he shopped for insurance and found a pretty good deal...but it can get outrageous that is for sure. Guess we all have to have our toys!! :rolleyes1

DH and I used to have motorcycles before we had kids. I had a little 360 Honda and he had a Honda 750 and 900 Ducati. The Ducati ended up wrapped around a telephone pole one day and DH, a fractured shoulder blade and road burns, he was very lucky. Eventually he sold the Honda and I had already sold mine because I used to ride more often on the back of his.

We often joke about getting a Honda Goldwing to go touring.

Today we saw his sister's and her boyfriend's matching Hondas...hers was a 600 Shadow and I forget what his was but it was bigger. They sure were nice!

We have a Vespa dealer here in town and one of these days I might go in and investigate. I'm thinking "fuel economy" for riding around town and I still have my helmet and leather jacket, though it's a bit tight. :smooth: ;) :rotfl2:

That's probably as close as I'll ever get to a motorcycle again. :moped:

Mh dh is dying to get one........but not for me!! He keeps telling me that once I've ridden behind him for a while that I'll love it (but I don't think so). My MIL has a 04 Yamaha something and FIL has 1 honda trike and a 02 Goldwing. Definitely a dream for my dh :goodvibes

We stopped in at Wolf BMW yesterday and are planning on getting against my Dr's wishes a couple of the BMW 650 singles for tooling around town ad the occasional weekend jaunt. We are a motorcycle family even the kids love the bikes.

I've had a MC all my life. :moped: I currently have a 04 KAW 636R, which is a crotch rocket. I will probably trade in for a sport tourer or a Harley V-Rod in the near future. I am looking at getting my wife one next year, but she keeps saying that she wants one with an automatic clutch. I keep tellig her that is a scooter.

My hubby and I ride. Well he does. I just sit on the back and enjoy the view :) We do some charity rides that we feel are important to us, but my husband goes out with a group of about 5-8 guys every Saturday during the warmer months. I go when I can, but I don't like to go on the 10 hour rides. Hurts my bum

Well, I ride a Vespa - PX125E, "souped up" with a 150cc engine.

I'm the nerdy little cousin to all you real bikers!

Sorry for the delay. I got busy around the yard and forgot I posted this. OOP'S.

Well I had a 88 Honda Shadow that I bought brand new in 89. (still in the crate). I now have a brand new Harley road king classic, actually its build date is the 23rd of May and I won't be getting it until the first of June. :hourglass

I read this post back when it was new and meant to post, but got sidetracked. DH has a 1982 Harley Davidson Wide Glide. He bought this used when I was pregnant with our first child (now 11). His dream bike would be a brand new HD ultra classic. Someday!!! Not now. I am scared to ride. I have done charity rides in the past but now our first born is in tournaments for many of the weekends in summer. Maybe again, someday we will go on more rides. I enjoy them as they are more controlled. :)

Harley widow huh...oh well I gues it's a small price to pay. DH (origional post) has been a "horsey" widow for a couple of years now and sat through many "boring" horse shows and lessons. My horse Destiny is my guilty pleasure so I guess his "hog" will have to be his! :thumbsup2 I honestly don't even remember him anticipating the birth of our dd with this much excitement. The bikes birthday :bday: :cake: is May 23rd for goodness sakes...it's marked on the calendar! Obsessed much! :sad2:

My husband has a Harley Electraglide decker. I love to ride on the back. He thinks I should get my own, but I have no desire to ride my own, I like to relax on the back in my nice cushy seat and enjoy the ride. We don't get out much anymore since we have kids. Almost bought a sidecar last year, but changed our minds. We were part of a group that put on our own charity ride. We enjoy going on the charity runs but with the kids we are now "seasonal campers" and spend most weekends at the campground. Someday we will ride to Sturgess - that'll be quite a few years away, but something dh really wants to do.
